"Chicks scream out wanting to be taken for a ride.."When I drive it, all I get is the old boilers coming over and telling me their life story nah, seriously, I don't drive it much these days... I'm bloody spoilt with the ute.I like my creature comforts.... The vette is a good city night time cruiser for those balmy summer nights, and excellent for those crisp cool autumn morning bursts through the hills. We have a string of club runs here in Adelaide during the spring and summer - Zippel Cruise. It's for yank cars, hot rods and Harleys only. On a good night, there's over 250 excellent American muscle cars that show up. We've got the bi-ennial Bay to Birdwood classic car run coming up shortly too. Sit on the side of the road at Anzac Highway, and see over 1000 excellent restored classics drive by.In reality though, these old buggers can be cantankerous. You sit there on the starter, pumping the pedal to get a bit of fuel into the carby... The sound of the whirring starter struggling against the ring gear, as it tries to fire up the small block. It eventually fires, and you need to blip the throttle, and keep a constant touch on the accelerator, as the idle is pretty rough until a bit of heat gets in to the motor. You sit there, the exhaust is throbbing, the whole car shaking, and the smell of unburnt fuel stinging the nostrils.....After a few minutes, it can idle on its own, and sits there purring to a nice rhythmic percussive sound. I'm sure you could make a great music sound track with the sounds of V8 rumbles.Car is good, but no match performance wise to modern new millenium technology.Typical mid 14's in the vette ....... 12's in the ute. No contest.

It's too nice having a demister/heater/air-con that actually works and knowing the engne will start every time. I must be getting old! My first car was a ZG Fairlane back in the late eighties and I remember being stoked when when it ran a 14.5 after I rebuilt the engine at great expense, now our T's are quicker than that standard. Having said that I hope to purchase a '67 Lincoln Continental in the near future for a weekend cruiser, I love those suicide doors and there's not many of them around. Here's a few more pics of past toys.Cheers.

I went for the fifties look ( it's an '02 Twin Cam Heritage ).Cheers

Does it go as good as it looks?

I obviously still havn't mastered adding attatchments yet, somehow I duplicated my post. Cheers
