I would love to dig up some of the crap that has been going around about the edit in 12-18 months time.

Im sure no one will use a piggy back style comp in 2 years time. (on a T)

Regardless its the only thing that can remove torque tags from 1st Gear in Auto's

(so im told) and this will only help the T's get faster, with slicks we will see the T's getting 60'' times like the LS1's do..........hopefully

I'm not bagging strap-ons!!....id be happpy with half of the gains some of these cars are getting!

The Edit is the way of future for all BA Falcons..

It works , It's result are proven

The only fault is the way the edit has been promoted(esp.by a non-donating member) on this forum without a cent being donated or any form of sponsorship to the forum..

Their lack of forum sponsership is a slap in the face for donating members and site sponsors..

Any other form of advertising (except word of mouth) would require payment ,so they are getting something for nothing  :ermm:

About time they did the right thing by the forum and chip-in for the running costs of this site....

I will be getting an Edit  , but one from a site sponser

I'm still confused as to what APS are doing about this, so I wouldn't hold your breath. Not to mention it will take months before reputable tuners will have the right states of tune and the knowledge of how to tune with their product, if it ever gets released. I'd go for something that people are now getting familiar with. Why wait (brand loyalty to APS? Because he sponsors? lol Its your car, it isn't owned by the forum) when you will get the same results, if not better, without waiting?

Just my 2c.

Just who has bagged the edit? I dont recall any posts where someone has said outright that it is crap... And why would they? Even Peter from APS has stated that it is good technology. He is releasing his own edit after all...

It is the modification of the car's existing program so it can only be good.

I have seen, and have personally posted, concerns about its usage without custom tuning. With tuning there is extra expense, and also a lack of available tuners at this time. This will change with time though, but concerns like these and the ones Xrdreaming stated above are genuine at the moment.

I'll probably go edit in the future whether its aps edit or whatever is yet to be decided. Like I said there aren't many experienced tuners around at the moment, and even less with experience at tuning high powered cars like mine.

To be honest, Ive seen more 'edit bashing piggybacks' than the other way around....

First of all ... who's against Edits?!?!? ... I am keenly waiting for one from my Tuner ... which is why APS is a safe pick ... regardless of what is said on here APS do their research ... and my car is safer for it ... :ermm:

Any Edit is a good choice though as competition is a good thing :ermm:

Cheers, Jason.

G'day folks. I've been away (from site ) for a while and need a catchup with edit news.

What's this about "torque tags" in the auto?

Could that be the reason my car doesn't launch like I expect with a 2800 rpm stall converter and PH 2 APS?

Does the edit work in conjuction with existing piggy backs?

If so, I might have to visit the tune shop very soon. :)

To clarify, I was talking about getting an SCT EDIT now, instead of waiting, not a strap on.

My point simply was this. An edit is an edit. In the end, if you can change all the parameters of the ECU, what difference does it make which edit you are using?

ANY extra features that the APS edit 'might' have, will be from a strap on unit bending signals, not from the factory PCM.

So if you simply want the torque reduction strategies removed, a better state of tune and more power, go and buy what is currently available. For people who will only have the finances when both products are on the market, make your choice at the time, and make it based on which poduct you best local tuner is using, not because of brand loyalty (because when it comes to modificatoins, brand loyalty is usually fairly stupid; there is always something better somewhere else).
