Polls

In the past few days, new polls on favourite colour and age have been started. These have been done at least once before, but are obvisouly buried in past threads (and hard to find as you can't search for 3-letter words such as "how old are you"). How about we have an area just for polls, which will allow new members to add to old votes when they join up????

In theory this does sound like a good idea.

But then we would have a dedicated polls section, with polls that would be relevant to certain (not all) sections of the site (XR6Turbo, Modifications, FPV, etc..) all stuck in the one section.

There are also members that post relevant info underneath the polls, info that should be in a certain section of the site (like the current system).

It is the Mods job to stop multiple polls/threads from occuring by closing or merging two or more together.

By all means, if there is a duplicate poll or thread around let one of the Moderators know so we can do something about it.

Would it be possible to make it so that we could search for 3 letter words so that we could search for such polls?

You should have started a poll to see if we wanted a poll section to put polls in, so the polls would be nice and easy to find rather than having polls all over the place. :D

That would put too much stress on the server housing the database.

Imagine doing a windows search using the letters exe, and that is just one user...

You can however search using multiple words, eg. how old is .....
