I reckon the 0-15 range reduction in the fine is for newspaper "headlines only." There are no other corresponding fine reductions!! :spoton:

This charge used to be 1pt, now it 2 pts and is now proposed to be 3 pts!!! What about 15-30 and 30-45????

Vintage Carr/Costa spin doctoring.....

This measure still masks the revenue rasing mentalility of the Carr dictatorship. :glad:

I am sure in NSW we are protected by the 10% error law, so they cannot "ajust the radar" settings to a lower level like they do in Vic.

Why not? It's only a matter of passing a bill in parliament.

I know for an absolute fact of one camera that has been adjusted down from 95 (in an 80 zone) to 85. It is a road I drive very regularly. It was my custom to always drive through at 90 and never had a problem. Then about three months ago a mate I work with reported he got busted by this camera at 86kph. Next time, just a week later, that I drove past it I was doing 85, maybe 86, and the Landcruiser right beside me was doing the same. The camera flashed and Im sure the only reason I haven't got a notification is that there were two cars in the photo and I was in the left lane so maybe the guy in the Landcruiser got sent the notice ???

I wonder if this is the first of many steps towards this national 80kph country roads speed limit as mentioned in that other thread. Softening us up a bit.

National 80kmh limit? That hearkens back to the US in the '70's with the National 55mph limit.

Eventually overturned and now back to more sensible limits because it was shown to be thoroughly stupid!

Nah mate , this decision's been made by the Government.

The HP cops wouldn't have enough intellegence to figure this one out!
