Shannons wouldnt insure me becuase I'm under 30 and not in a car club? but I did find a place in Melbourne that will insure a Supra for $1100 plus $1800 excess (if it's my fault), I reckon this is reasonable.Just wondering if anyone can point me towards a decent importer?Im thinking of these guys- http://www.japanperformancedirect.com.au/index.htmAny thoughts?<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Are you specifically after a Supra? Maybe I could help you or put you in the right direction. You have to be careful. Maybe one day if your up in Sydney if you like you could come around and take a couple of GTR's or maybe a 300ZX for a drive and see what you think. I even have a nice Hiace coming that might even suit you. Here is a picture. Japanese car companies have been building turbo cars for decades and have come up with some pretty awesome technology while they were at it. Any GT-R Skyline, RZ TT Supra and some of the Evos (even though I don't like them personally) are incredible cars and I would love to drive some of them at some stage of my life. They are technically superior to what Australia produced at the same time those cars were released in Japan. They are the true 'sports' cars, what we drive are just a bunch hotted up family sedans. But a damn good bunch of family sedans. The only Japanese car I would buy personally would be an S15 200SX, its won PCOTY and was originally sold in oz. That way parts are more readily available and insurance is not as high as on a grey import. The S15 is a true sports car but because of that you suffer through lacking a little room plus a higher insurance premium. ($400 in my case over the T). But its cheaper to run and register.. I am a car enthusiast which means I ignore where the car comes from or the badge. I like cars from Europe, Japan and I don't mind a few Holdens. Give me a Grange anyday. There are reasons for my stand on this which don't need to be canvassed here - just accept it as a fact.Second point - a Grange? Really?? Poor bugger!! A friend, well acquaintance, of mine had one. A real Expensive Daewoo nut. Reckoned in the end it was the worst POS he'd ever owned. That was until he bought a new SS last month and it's been off the road for six days already. ECU problems - driving along and it just stops - call the truck, back to the workshop, thing goes OK, no-one can find the fault, he's losing handsfull of hair over it as he drives long distances from home regularly and just can't trust the damn thing. PLUS the dealer is 140km from where he lives!!!But I digress .... back to the Japanese .... now, where'd I leave my gun? ...
