geez you got let of good pashen, what woulda happened if u didn't have the damage up the side :ermm:

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Over the past few years on my jaunts to see my kids in QLD, I have on numerous occasions been clocked at speeds well in excess of posted limits whilst overtaking and letting the car ease back down to the limit.

Once flash of the HWP high beam , another let go free of charge , not stopped at

all after passing a large road train ( was really motoring ) and a solitary reduced infringement :w00t2:

All good I think as obviously given the situations the HWPs in both NSW and Qld have chosen to use their discretion and a few stern words.A modicum of respect and the right attitude I believe can go a long way :w00t2:

As for those damned Vic cameras :w00t2:

For anyone that has any sort of concept of police work and what it involves it is rare for a TMU member in Victoria to intercept you for speeding unless you were exceeding the speed limit by a bigger margin than 5 km/h.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Pffff Getting pulled over for 5k over isnt very fair either...

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

That's basically what I'm saying :w00t2:

Driving from Qld to Melbourne earlier this year, I was just leaving the booming town of Goondiwindi at around 7:30am.  I overtook 3 road trains in a row, and was doing about 180kph at the time.

The most amazing thing about this story is that a car that can run on Unleaded was in Gun-dar-whin-dee :w00t2:

Geez, she's a bit slow that town.

My opinion of highway police has changed. You wont believe this.

Driving from Qld to Melbourne earlier this year, I was just leaving the booming town of Goondiwindi at around 7:30am. I overtook 3 road trains in a row, and was doing about 180kph at the time.

An oncoming copper drove by, did a u-turn and pulled me over. I thought I was f*cked for sure. He asked me what speed I was doing, I told him I wasn't sure because all I wanted to do was get passed the truck brigade. He said he saw me overtake the trucks, but usually people slow down once they overtake.

With my blonde baby in the passenger seat smiling at him, I asked him to give me a break in my back luck. When he asked what I meant, I told him that I was hit on the left side of my car by a woman 6 hours earlier in Noosa. (This in fact happened 2 weeks earlier) He walked around the car and saw the damage across the entire left side of the car, including rims.. He made some general conversation about my car and must have felt sorry for me, because he let me off completely - not even a minor fine. Just a friendly reminder that I don't need to break speed records to overtake, and when I do overtake, to slow down.

That copper was a legend. I owe him my licence

That exact same thing happened to me in the same spot last year except I had a 5 year old in the back seat who thought it was great the dad got pulled over! and hasn't stopped talking about it.

I agree the copper was a legend!

There is a new purple XR6T being used by the cops in the area. Today it was on Dandenong Rd just after you go under the underpass after Glenferrie Rd but before the Tatts building (which is at Tooronga Rd).

They were parked on the grass on the left, front of the car aiming at the road.

I came onto Dandenong Rd from station street and gunned it in 1st and second. Couldnt believe I didnt get done. Reckon I was close to 100, but perhaps they were aiming the other way in case anyone ran the lights coming towards them. I didnt see them as they sort of were lossed in all the traffic 200m before me.

Lucky.

Funny enough, I saw the same Xr6T undercover on Malvern Rd on the weekend. It was between Kooyong and Orrong, with its nose jutting out from a side street trying to catch people roaring up or down the hill. Luckily it was such an obvious colour I was looking at it saying "God, what a purple!" to my passenger and kep speed down just in case. Lucky I did!

Watch out..that car is hiding in some tricky spots around the Malvern/Toorak/Carnegie area.

No one is having a go at you for asking a reasonable and serious question stang, not even slightly suggesting that.

Its the seemingly mandatory child-like responses that cause a moan.

A simple question started this thread, a simple answer was given and some cretin had to f*ck it all because he never got to go to piggy school, just never graduated out of f*ckwit school!
