The book says that for and auto XR6T you should get 12.9l/100k.

Now I know that I don't drive like an old woman, but I dont drive like an idiot either.

So why is it that after 4000ks on the dial, I still get on average 17.9l/100k?

I'm interested to know what the general consensus is before I start thinking I've got an issue. Click the box that most represents you.

Mate, I drive pretty similar to yourself.

Real easy on the freeways (no point getting done cruising at 150kph), and just fang it off the lights etc. up to speed limits.

Would do approx. 60% Freeway & 40% Town, and average 13l/100k on the trip meter AND the Pump.

Under 70Km/h, they Drink , even when nursed. I cant keep the instantaneous under 30l/100km even under wuzz acelleration.

Alan,

Fair enough, I do about 5% freeway driving because I live and work in the city. Stop start stop start ..... and I know that does not help.

Its not a dollar issue, fuel is still cheaper than Beer!

My car is always 16.9lt> usually aroung the 18's.

Mostly city driving, and usually I am hard on the right foot.

I do not pay for fuel, so I use as much as I can :spoton:

My car I'm lucky to get 360klms out of a tank of fuel. that's city driving, stop/start. On the highway, am getting up around 550klms mark though, and that's still not 100% highway. It's a bit of a pain but as Gooza said, once you get some driving over 70klms it changes dramatically.

I usually get 14-15 l/100 with a mix of city and hills driving (mine's manual). I did average 30 mpg (9.3 l/100) on an Adelaide-Melb-Adelaide trip last year. They certainly dont like stop start traffic. Usually find the trip meter is half a l/100 greater than actual usage.

You have to remember that the figure of 12.8 (I think that's what was on my sticker) is for combined Hwy/City driving to some predetermined formula/criteria.

Mine is basically spot on that value.
