One questions to start! How much is the complete APS intercooler kit for the XR Turbo??

What other options are there in terms of bigger intercoolers and what sort of money are we talking??

Also can people who have done the following give an indication of cost (parts only)

- Injectors ($500?)

- Fuel pump ($350?)

Cheers! :spoton:

Intercoolers:

Stock ....370 x 175 x 55 = 3,500cm3

APS .......508 x 351 x 89 = 16,000cm3

AVO ......457 x 355 x 89 = 14,500cm3

Nizpro .. 450 x 365 x 57 = 9,400cm3

PWR .....375 x 345 x 57 = 7,400cm3

APS:

$1897 inc piping, power steering cooler & extras (excludes wastgate valve & actuator - add ~$200)

AVO:

$1700 approx, inc piping & extras -includes piping over rocker cover to throttlebody. Has just been released ie currently only 1 in stock

Nizpro:

$?? Core by PWR

PWR:

$880, single pass core, direct replacement (<2psi across core vs 4psi stock). No piping changes required. This core is different from their first one which many people didn't like. The first IC was a twin pass designed for a stock or very slightly modded car. It's still available at $825, but not really worth the effort

Chiptorque:

IC coming soon. Core by PWR

ARE:

Nothing yet

DNA:

Nothing yet

Redcliffe Dyno:

They have one available, don't know anything about it - best speak direct to him

DynoWog:

He's importing cores I believe -best speak direct to him

CAPA:

Water to air unit for around $3500

There are others out there. Personally I'm chasing another stockist. It seems a few are using PWR of varying sizes and end tanks. Unfortunately there is a lot more to ICs than just dimensions. This is only a guide & info is from what I've been told & will probably be correctly by others

Hope that helps a little & might save a few phone calls. Good luck

Regards,

Cameron

Can we get a some pics of the new PWR??

I think the older PWR intercooler isn't too bad...it would definately be able to handle more boost/power then the stocko and at $825, it's a bargain!!!

Dave.

Dave apparently there have been members that have fitted the PWR cooler and have gone backwards in power.

It has not had glowing reviews. :glad:

I believe it was their old "twin pass" cooler that a few members fitted to the ir T's, and removed them just as quick. It will be interesting to see how the new "single pass" goes.

Twin pass = twice as much restriction.

I run a PWR core in the XC, it seems to work very well. We designed our own end tanks to TIG onto it. I usually run about 8 degrees above ambient in the XC. :spoton:
