Who actually screwed up, the Dealer or the Factory? I seriously doubt the Dealer will admit liability!

I agree ,its a hell of a lot of money to pay for somthing you didnt order in the first place .Get the loaner and drive it like you stole it till you you get what you want, try and screw them for sports leather.I dought youll get it but youll never know unless you try,Dont forget your the one with the money that they want ,GOOD LUCK and keep us informed on the outcome

In all honesty they won't give a sh*t if you took the car or not they will just onsell it and make someones day by having one readily available. They will probably get more for it than what they were going to sell it to you for.

Secondly if you took a loner equal to or better than the "T" it will take the shine of your new car when you get it.

I would wait the time and get exactly what I wanted and take them up on a loner - something good but not to good. Trust me you will regret it if you don't, as someone said earlier it is a lot of money to pay for something you didn't want.

7 - 8 weeks is not very long in the greater scheme of things.

Thanks all for the feedback.

It wasn't the dealer's fault. The contract clearly stated Velocity, not white. Unfortunately it was Ford's fault.

Basically, I've taken the car as I don't want to wait another 7 - 8 weeks. I like the white car; it's got all the options I chose bar the colour. The dealer has thrown in a couple of free major services, rebate on the paint, some merchandise and tickets to tour FPV.

As sully59 alluded to it was basically a take-it or leave-it offer from the dealer. They were limited to what they could do. After all I really did screw them on the deal with a $6200 'special fleet discount'. My car optioned up cost me less than $50k driveaway. They would sell it for $55 - $56k to someone that is keen to buy it.

Can't wait till Monday to drive it :spoton:

It's not just the fact they can on sell it, it's the bad rap they will recieve... How many ppl are going to have confidence in that dealer from now on if word gets around... Not me.. You can't buy back that bad publicity..

Take the white one till the new one comes.... don't pay for any servicing on it, and get some extras on your new ride. I'd go for something Factory fit....

Remember, they won't get your money till u get the car you want.

If they give u a demo they have lost nothing, it's a demo. If they let you use a new car for 2 months, it becomes 2nd hand, and they loose $$..

We had a lounge delivered in the wrong colour once. We kept the wrong one till the new one came, got good $$ off the price and free fabric care..

Customer care is called that for a reason..

I think this alludes to where the real probelm is. You mentioned getting a "fleet discount" In my experience, fleet cars are often grabbed from whichever dealer has one....not made up especially for your order.

In 2003 I ordered Mercury Silver with Plexis Red interior. I ordered it about 3 months before my current lease expired. The car turned up 2 months early.

I went to view it at the dealer and it had a Plexis Grey interior. I insisted that they find me a Plexis Red interior as I was still in my current lease and therefore not in any hurry for the new car.

The dealer then grabbed one from a Toowoomba dealership and had it transferred down to Sydney.... still approx 3 weeks earlier than I needed it.

At least it was the right colour this time. Was certainly a long three weeks before I was able to jump in it and take it away.

Maybe others find similar experiences with "fleet" purchases ?

Our XR6T is a fleet car, it took 3 weeks to arrive back in october 03. It also come with plexis grey(optional) instead of plexis blueprint(standard), which is good if you've seen plexis blueprint :spoton:
