I was driving to a client's site today when I went to lower my window for a smoke and the drivers windows would not go down. I pressed the down button a few times and the window went down, I had no issues raising it. After leaving the site, I had the nicotine urge again , but the windows would not go down at all. The other windows work fine.

Dropped into my local "Ford Service" and told them of the problem. The Service advisor went into the workshop and then came back and said "its the regulator" we will need to book it in on Monday..WTF...he did not even look at the car. I asked if it "could" be the switch and he said no...I asked how he can be sure and was told that they have had many problems with the window regulators.

I asked if I could try a switch myself, but was told I must buy it as it was an electrical item and because I was going to fit it, would not be covered under warranty.

I then spoke to the service manager and they will try to fix it tomorrow.

Has anyone else had window problems ? I have not noticed anyone mention any problems before on the forum.

I was also not impressed by the service advisor attitude, as booking my car in for service wastes 2 hours of my time and I am without a car for the day....It is a pity they seem to not understand what customer service is :gooff:

At least the service manager understands that I do not take the work NO well, and tried to help me :w00t2:

Zap,

Mine started playing up this week. Press the auto down and it stops after a little bit. Hold the button down, and you can here the switch going click click click click as the window goes down a bit with each click - like a faulty switch contact or something.

Going to wait for it to do it all the time before I take it in so they dont come back and say "unable to reproduce problem".

Cheers,

Michael...

PS. Wonder how I will go getting it replaced with a MK2 illuminated switch!! :ermm:

Gary,

Funny you mention that. It is my birthday today (34) and I have decided to QUIT SMOKING. :o :o

I have had enough of being a drug addict to nicotine and I am happy about it. :spoton:

The window is still working :w00t2:
