I have tint on the car, but I don't think it is metallic. All my other cars have had tint, but the reception has been OK.- I get surging when I'm in 4th or 5th doing 2000rpm- The fuel economy seems high compared to the AUIII.- I had the car in to tighten some of the suspension as the car had a knock from the get go. As a result they installed the latest flash to fix overboost, the car now seems to be running hotter than it did before, with the radiator fan going full bore a fair amount of the time. The engine temp indicator sits close to 1/2 way, is this normal ?- I have the 6-speed in this car and is a diff/gearbox clunk going from 2nd to 3rd, and 4th to 5th, even coming down hard from 4th to 2nd.- Lastly the low fuel indicator seems to come on when it reports about 60k to go, I wait until it hits 10km to go and when I fill up there is still more than 10lt in the tank.Ta, Dave. All my other cars have had tint, but the reception has been OK.Being mounted in the rear window itself the aerial is probably not in the best place however I have never had any reception trouble- The fuel economy seems high compared to the AUIII.Being relatively new this will reduce as you get a few more ks on it - I had the car in to tighten some of the suspension as the car had a knock from the get go. The engine temp is about 11oclock on mine all the time just left of 1/2 - Lastly the low fuel indicator seems to come on when it reports about 60k to go, I wait until it hits 10km to go and when I fill up there is still more than 10lt in the tank. Mine always seems to have a lot left in it but the digital read out is only a guide, much better working off your own figuresHope this answers some of your questions

Mine warms up in about 1 minute (ie: real quick)Mine readout for fuel is same as yours - not close - maybe the computer will 'learn'??Economy - What economy - They suck petrol even when nursed around town. Only stop sucking when doin' 100Km on open rd.Mine averages approx. 12.7l/100km doing 70% Country driving.Mine was re-flashed this afternoon by FORD, cant tell the difference yet, but I've only had the car 4 weeks anyway. Its an Auto, so cant comment on the gearbox.Alan

Ford had to forgo some of the aerodynamics of the AU to create a style of car that the press wouldn't bag the sh!t outa. Can't help you with the temp Q - I think most sit at about 1/3 to 1/2 on the scale so it's probably within range. However if it is definitely different than before you should get back to your dealer about it.It is very sad that all Tremecs seem to have these problems in one form or another. I don't have much hope for you in finding a solution to it as Ford simply won't admit any problem exists and say it is standard operational form for a heavy duty gearbox. They have forgotton the old top loaders and BW single rails which easily handled the same amount of torque without the problems that today's gearboxes seem to have. That seems pretty standard for the fuel light/DTE. FM is not affected, what your experiencing is the weaker reception the inglass jobby is compared to a fully extendid aerial. It also depends on the recieving power of the radio tuner. The rest are features

Are you sure there is 10lt left in the tank? Just beacuse the pump clicks off, doesnt mean you are full. I know with my car that getting that last few litres in can take many clicks of the pump before it really is full.
