In the end I actualy got mine in the dealership. It was the end of the month and my T was in the lot for ages.. Just watch the price drop week after week, In the end $35k including Stamp Duty was too much to to knock back..Just keep your eyes out and you'll find your T

I will have to wait until deprication kicks in and I can get a XR6T sedan with premium sound, leather either SSS or manual for $30k flat or less. My guess is by November this year they will start appearing and dipping into 20's. As the early 02 builds will finish on 3 year leases, and will push prices down. Fantastic car for the money. I would then start with the local paper and then check the local car yards (you may pay more but you get guaranteed title and warranty) and then look in the places such as Trading Post and the various auctions as suggested by others. Look around for vehicles at auctions, dealers, fleet etc. that have around 15,000k's on them...Most government agencies keep their vehicles for around 30,000k's - police included and these are the cars most likely to be flogged ... The cars that are at 15,000k's would have been owned by a non - profit organisation (I.E. Lifeline, churches, red cross etc.) as they can buy tax free and trade at 15,000, tax free.... The cars coming from these organisations are usually better looked after than the government or fleet cars..A priest in a XR6T pulled up beside me in carpark and I asked him about his car and he says he loves it but it has to be sold in another 4000kms... He also said he had cut loose one day and driven it at, get this 120 Km/H..... and still felt guilty about it.... So he should ....Hope this is helpful.... You should try the reposessed auctions if your after a ute. Try carsales.com.au, carpoint.com.au and uniquecars.com.au(?)But a ute with options, I doubt you'll get one for under $30k because they hold their value more than sedans, which go for $31-32K completely unoptioned at auctions. Good luck though.
