Isn't the Falcon selling well????

nope it isnt. reading an article the other day (will try to find) in regards to sales for the year. toyota had over 200k sold, Late model camira sales decrease, falcon sales decreased but not as much as Late model camira but the gap between was enormous with Expensive Daewoo still selling plenty more. (maybe that indicates how many stupid people are out there)

Was that Falcon sales decreased, or Ford sales decreased? Big difference. I too thought that Falcon sales were going well. :nono:

Wouldnt Toyotas annual sales figures include truck sales aswell, something ford and Expensive Daewoo dont really make.

Not only that, but Echo, Corolla, and usually either Prado or Landcruiser make it into the Top 10 sales every month.

Ford's answer to small cars (Fiesta and Focus) can't touch the Echo and Corolla sales figures. :spoton:

yeah the echo seems to be the car of choice for small run around delivery/company cars, The company I work has purechased over 200 echos over the last 12 months they are tough little buggers and toyota gave us the best deal in leasing.

And apparently they look awesome with an illuminated sign stuck on the roof!

How off-putting are they to drive though, with the centre mounted instruments. Not to mention someone of my stature (I.e. big bas*ard) needs a friggin can opener to get in and out of them.

Someone also mentioned the prado.

I’m yet to come across a decent prado driver, they seem to be the vehicle of choice for the middle age generation that are yet to find that perfect volvo.

yeah, the centre mounted instruments I recon are just a novelty to snare female buyers, "I want that one cause it looks cool."

But ours has put up with 17-20 year olds driving it for over 12 months, since they are so gutless you have to rev the ring out of them to get it to 60 and it hasnt been back for a waranty claim yet, except for a blown headlight, but my falcon has blown 4 in the same time. Clutch is getting a little funny now, but it does over 60,000 k's a year all city driving.

Below are yearly summary VFACTS figures:

Note that Ford Falcon sales have fallen by 7836 units, from 73220 in 2003 to 65384 in 2004. There were 13583 Ford Territory sales and it appears statistically and anecdotally significant that the Territory may be cannibalising Falcon sales.

Bet they sold more than 7000 odd Falcon Wagons in 2003 ... I would buy a Territory over the wagon anyday ... I suspect the Falcon wagon days are numbered ... especially after Ford wisely made a RWD Territory :banghead:

Cheers, Jason.
