Who Has Problems With Their Car?

It seems that most of the people that I have spoken with in regards to problems have all modified the car in some way. Has anyone out there got a standard (untouched) T and has had problems?

Yep. My T is Totally Factory Stock. Had most tof what I consider the common major problems.

1. Loss of power on ovetaking (PCM Reflashed)

2. Juddery power steering at low speeds (not investigated yet)

3. Diff clunk (low speed) (not investigated yet)

4. Diff whine at 95km/h (not investigated yet)

5. Poor shift quality 2-->3 under specific circumstances (Dealer says "normal")

6. Paint peeling off intercooler (been painted twice)

7. Brake Shudder (been skimmmed once)

8. Windscreen noise (Fixed by dealer)

That should do. No, problems are NOT caused soley by people modifying ther T's!!

12,000km - nothing significant.

3 times however Ive had to pullover and reboot due to engine sputter. After reboot it was fine. Apart from that the car has been faultless and I give it the full thumbs up.

When I am breaking to stop at light etc etc....

and the speed reaches about 10-20 kilometers

5 times out of 10 it stalls.

Yes it is a manual, but I'm in netrual..... :-(

Car went in for a service today-

The original list:

1.‘shh shh’ noise coming from wheels (handbrake)- Fixed

2. dented sun visor since brand new (looks like someones punched it hard)- Not touched.

3. audible diff whine at 85-110km/h- Dealer couldn't replicate it

4. clunk when changing gears at low speeds (auto)- Fixed, tightened up box apparently

5. exhaust heat shield rattle on idle- Fixed, they re welded it on (won't last)

6. paint defect on drivers side rear lower door (splodge mark)- Didn't bother, no doubt they'd make it worse and its not that noticable.

7. paint flaking off intercooler- Fixed myself @ 7000km for $2.

8. Car stalls often at traffic lights or when coming to a stop- Fixed, ECU reflash, throttle body replaced

9. Car will idle very roughly and RPM drops like its going to stall- Fixed, ECU reflash

10. Drivers side rear window sill strip jerks out when window is rolled down, and makes shuddering noise- Didn't bother, it hasn't done it in ages.

11. Steering wheel shudders heaps when turning at low speeds- Not sure on this one, will let you know.

12. rear passenger side window seal is dodgy and creates wind noise- Not touched

13. Front passenger seat has excessively worn causing the grey material to turn fuzzy (like the soft part of Velcro)- Didn't bother

14. Front passenger side arm rest handle feels like it will fall off when you pull the door shut (very loose)- Fixed, the plastic welds had broken on the back of the door liner.

15. shuddering windscreen wipers- Didn't bother

16. windscreen seal is dodgy and causes a lot of wind noise (loud whistling)- Wasn't touched.

17. Clunk from rear when you plant it in 'D'- Couldn't replicate but should be fixed due to tightening of gearbox or whatever the f*ck they did.

18. Horn is broken, only the high works and not the low so it sounds ghey..- They've attempted to fix this but the f*cking thing come back sounding worse than how we gave it to them.

19. Another mysterious clunk coming from the back of the car... possibly suspension?- Didn't bother

20. Engine light keeps coming on, engine goes really flat but is fine when restarted (but for how long..)- ECU Reflash.

21. Loss of power.. seems sluggish sometimes.- ECU reflash.

22. Cracks in blue plastic part of ICC- Didn't bother.

23. Paint wearing off cup holder and gear selector surround. - Didn't bother.

Reasonably happy. Glad they could fix major probs but theres still a couple of probs that piss you off to the max.

After track day at Darlington Park - brakes are cactus! My doing and couldn't care less. DAMN FUN!!!!!!!!!!

The power windows on my T used to go down whenever I used keyless entry. Fixed by the dealer. Car used to stall at the traffic lights. Fixed by the dealer. Rear brake noise (handbrake squeeling) and the handbrake didnt support the weight of the car. Fixed by the dealer but its back. Steering wheel shudder got to the point of ridiculous. Dealer changed the rotors- fixed it. BUT I still love the car. Wouldnt trade it for anything. I call it character.

2nd CAI, centre muff removed

Standard problems only:

1. shh shh handbrake noise

2. vibrator steering at low speed

3. Turd5 gearbox

4. Dana clunkmatic diff

5. Occasional stalling for no reason

6. Engine light/loss of power goes away when you turn off and start again
