Who Has Problems With Their Car?

Just wanted to find out if there was anyone out there who has never had a problem of any kind with their BA XR/FPV? I'm talking anything from noisy diff to complete rebuild. Just out of curiosity.

Well just picked mine up from the dealers not 10 minutes ago, just a small list this time:

New Diff

New Gearbox (Transmax Z oil to be put in)

New clutch -Supplied by JB

Machine the flywheel

Machine the discs

Fit new pads - Supplied by JB

New Tint on rear left hand door

Reflash Pcm

Replace Gear knob

Replace Leather Gear boot

I think that's enough for one trip to the dealers, will see how the car goes over the next month or so. The clutch definately needs bedding in, it's either on or off, reminds me of my racing days, and the new RB 74 pads are the same.

October 2003 BA XR6T Sedan- 28,500km

1.‘shh shh’ noise coming from wheels (handbrake)

2. dented sun visor since brand new (looks like someones punched it hard)

3. audible diff whine at 85-110km/h

4. clunk when changing gears at low speeds (auto)

5. exhaust heat shield rattle on idle

6. paint defect on drivers side rear lower door (splodge mark)

7. paint flaking off intercooler

8. Car stalls often at traffic lights or when coming to a stop

9. Car will idle very roughly and RPM drops like its going to stall

10. Drivers side rear window sill strip jerks out when window is rolled down, and makes shuddering noise

11. Steering wheel shudders heaps when turning at low speeds

12. rear passenger side window seal is dodgy and creates wind noise

13. Front passenger seat has excessively worn causing the grey material to turn fuzzy (like the soft part of Velcro)

14. Front passenger side arm rest handle feels like it will fall off when you pull the door shut (very loose)

15. shuddering windscreen wipers

16. windscreen seal is dodgy and causes a lot of wind noise (loud whistling)

17. Clunk from rear when you plant it in 'D' (haha yes.. with an empty boot)

18. Horn is broken, only the high works and not the low so it sounds ghey..

19. Another mysterious clunk coming from the back of the car... possibly suspension?

20. Engine light keeps coming on, engine goes really flat but is fine when restarted (but for how long..)

21. Loss of power.. seems sluggish sometimes.

EDIT: Car's boorked in on monday for 30,000km service, I'll let you all know how it goes, should be an absolute pissa!

1. 12 week wait – Quoted 6 weeks

2. Resprayed bonnet, faulty paint

3. Retinted 5 windows – scratches

4. Loose steering rack

5. Exhaust rattle

6. Squealing brakes – Machined rotors

7. Sunroof rattles - still does

8. Back fire – blew off a number of inlet hoses

9. Replaced drivers side air bag assembly and wiring harness

10. Drivers door lock rattles - still does

11. Flat spots - still does

12. Overboosts - still does

13. Rough idle - still does

14. Stalls - still does

15. Notchy power delivery - still does

16. Inconsistent power delivery - still does

17. Faulty handbrake / Scraping noise – attempted to be fixed 6 times

18. Drive line clunk - still does

19. Replaced gearbox – 5th gear crunching

20. Replaced fuel pump

21. Replaced waste gate

22. Bi-passed turbo boost solenoid

23. Replaced turbo boost solenoid

24. Hydraulic lifter type noise when cold

25. Replaced turbo

26. Replaced water pump

27. Replaced driver door locking mechanism

28. Replaced brake pads – TSB on squealing premium brakes

29. Replaced broken trim while being serviced

30. Clunk on full lock – Re-adjust steering rack

31. Grumble from rear end – Diff chatter. Further inspections required

32. Engine re-flash LOTS of times

33. Air leak around the turbo somewhere

Well that's really dissapointing.

Good luck getting all that fixed.

Are your dealers idiots or something?

I mean how could they let all of these problems mount up.

Ive had a body rattle that was fixed and the squeeky brakes thing is being fixed on Tuesday.

My dealer is great.

I do expect one or two small problems in the first couple of years of owning a new car, but the list you guys have is mind boggling

Would have been cheaper for ford to give you a new car.

Rust removed from drivers side roof , Roof respray and replacement windscreen rust appeared when it was only 6 months old

now the ute has done 25000ks diff has to be replaced also turbo leak somewhere but otherwise a nice ute to clock up the ks in :wacko:
