October ( I think?) last year, Falcon got car of the year ..& the XR6T got best sports under $60,000.... October is NOT that far away again!..Unless the opposition comes up with something really special, (which I doubt in the time available?).. What's to say Ford can't pull both awards off again?... Call me biased, but what current Holden, Mitsubishi, Or ANY other make is gunna come close to the XR6T ??

AND has it happened before?..( same car winning 2 years running)

Charliewool,

I think for a car to be entered into the judging the car needs to be "NEW". I think this is why the VY did not get a show this year. So unless for relase the BAII with major updates I can not see this happening.

OK, so Ford , I believe have new colours coming?.. Put a series 11 badge on the turbo ( in the new green colour) & It'd STILL sh*t in!!

Charliewool, this still wouldn't be enough for it to be classed as a new model. Has to have major differences to the previous model. That's why VY Late model camira wasn't a contender for Car Of The Year, It is basically just a VX with a few minor changes.

2 other contenders that I think may have a shot are Nissan 350z and Mazda RX8. Both have excellent reviews to date...And the price is good..

Does anyone here really care ???
