Two part question for those more knowedgelable than myself.

1. I have found a manual to buy that has all that I want. Ultimately I'll look to upgrade the box and clutch. What I would like to know is if at that time I can upgrade to an aftermarket Auto & Clutch without any other major changes?

2. Has anyone installed APS Phase 2 or 3 with a standard manaual? If so how has it gone, how long until it need replacement etc. I'm thinking of "only" going to Phase 2 for the moment so as to keep some money in reserve in case the box blows........ :spoton:

Thanks to anyone who can help with the above.

I guess if you find all the approptiate bits, or someone who wants to change their auto to a manual it shouldnt be a big drama. You could do a gearbox swap + share labour costs

Not in perth by any chance are you? :)

1. IMHO if I was going to do a gearbox upgrade I'd more likely consider a Malwood T56 which I believe would be a cheaper and stronger option than the time and money it would take to install an auto. I'd imagine it would be quite difficult to do a manual to auto conversion considering the wiring harnesses etc.

2. I think it would all depend on your driving style and how you utilise your gearbox. With a stage three I wouldn't expect the standard gearbox to last too long.

the gearbox would last depends o driving habbits at 300rwks but the clutch wll stat spliping after a while.I have been told swapping from auto to manual or the other way you need a pcm reflash. and you can buy a tyfoon 6speed from ford for $5500.00 plus gearbox mount and tail shaft yoke and it fits straight in :google:

Plus pedal box, pedals, gear shifter, shifter boot, hydraulic slave and master cylinder, clutch, flywheel, then it will probably bolt in...... need a tad more than $5500!
