Dealership informed me that it would make it faster!! The spark-mapping would remove deadspots on the turbo-power curve.

She certainly seemed to run sweet after I picked her back-up.....faster though....difficult to say.....definately no slower!!

6-speed box is great isn't it!!

Guys, hows the reflash performing after a few Ks for the ECU to 'learn' new things?

Mine's due for it Friday, have had one situation where I think?? I had a overboost cutout. Changed to higher gear and off again.

I am not sure, as you can also get to redline/cutout before you realise it too :spoton:

I've done 10,000 km with my MKII 6-speed. I haven't experienced any probs yet (touch wood). I am a bit hesitant to fix something that ain't broke. It doesn't appear to be down on power - it ran 98mph at WSID the other day and Geea and others can vouch for the power sapping conditions.

Yeah my 5-speed ran 99mph, its stock so that says it making some extra neddies and I have a June 04 PCM.

Alan,

Here are some jpgs from my gtech showing just what happens at the rev limit in first gear. That certainly woke me up when it happened, thought I'd killed the bloody thing!

So now I know to start the change at 5500 (auto), before limit, (shift lights on gtech perfect for the heads up).

Well, had mine flashed a week ago today. (3000KM Service)

Can't tell the difference from when it left the factory.

Have taken it for a couple of spins around home, certainly goes well still.

No overboost, stalling or other sh*t.

Although it still seems to have a small 'surge' feeling at around 1200-1500rpm as I head out the driveway at grandma speed when cold!

I had no troubles before the flash either :)

all you guys that are getting your car reflashed... are you sure you have extra power... why did it take till the release pf the phoon to have a xr6T recall to flash the ecu... me thinks they are taking away a few ponies making the accelaration smoother... in the meantime making bigbrother (f6) look good. I would be thinking twice about getting it reflasshed unless you have serious issues with your car.

Are you experiencing any problems?

I have 2,300km on mine and dont have any Engine related problems. if it aint broke dont touch it! I understand it could prevent the problem down the track but dont want this creating new ones!

I wonder with all the bad publicity the Typhoon has copped they are re-flashing the computer further restricting the T so its not quicker than the phoon ( I highly doubt this though)
