You also *can't* live without climate control air, it's impossible.

I've had cc a/c for too long now. Buggered if I can remember how to use those knobs!

The premium brakes are well worth it, and I would say compulsory if you frequently drive hard.

Given how quickly the car can get up to speed, good brakes arent exactly a bad idea.

There initially were many complaints about the standard brakes on this website. I must admit I have hammered my premium brakes time and time again and no sign of fade or warping...and they do have good feel and stop the car very well.

Today in 35 degree heat I did some stops from high speed. First from 200kmh, then from 190 then from 160. No sign of fade, ever. And not much time between stops either. (Came to full stop, floored it through the gears until up to speed, then slammed on the brakes again). Same applies to long spirited runs on tracks or through the twisties which involve max acceleration then max braking - not much in between.

If you drive sedately (like many people do..including many XR6T owners here) they you probably will never need the better brakes. But personally I would never go without them.

Some others have chosen instead to throw out the standard brakes and put in an aftermarket package. Its another option buy obviously will impact some small parts of your warrantee. (None that really count though, I imagine). There are some awesome aftermarket brakes out there, and you may be able to get some fitted fro around the $3k mark. Consider posting a new threat here aimed at those who have put on aftermarket brakes, and ask them how much they cost including fitting. Also ask them what they have performed like, what are the downsides (pad and disc wear may be higher, some may not function 100% until quite hot etc etc)

As for interiors, the cloth one actually lasts well. 2 years and counting and it still looks as new. The standard leather one looks much better (although compared to the leather in most euro cars for a similar option cost its pretty cheap and nasty). The sport leather interior is...different. I didnt like it that much but think it will grow on me. Those little dots/circles are just a bit too much sometimes. Put together with the other things (I had the sports luxury pack as an option) it didnt add up to be worth it for me...but I didnt just rock up to a dealer (buy corporate)so dont know what the normal prices/packages are like. I also didnt like the little clock sticking up out of the middle of the dash - an unnecessary thing if you ask me, ruining an otherwise fine dash/centre console.

PS, just an interior design tip - in general NEVER introduce a new colour with your interior. ie if your paint is blue, then if you are having cloth seats have the blue trim (or grey/black matches every paint colour as well). Dont go red or some other colour with your blue paint. Its not good taste or colour matching. The only exception would be certain seats which come with a certain colour XR logo on them (but are predominantly charcoal/grey).

I know lots will argue (in general those with non-matching interiors!) but its a simple general rule of interior designs for cars, and it definitely applies to the Ford interiors, given the options available. You will find come time to sell it, most people will comment on non-matching colours right away!
