do you have any more info on the mods please

and what happend to the clutch was it  the clip

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

He said they removed the cat but didn't say much else. He said they also gave him a dyno sheet to prove the power. He also mentioned that he drove a standard phoon and then his car and notice the power difference.

I was waiting in a lane to run when he did the clutch. Just saw heaps of smoke come from the mid section of the car and no wheels spin and after the run he was gone...

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Thanks

Hilly

I dame well new when I ordered my typhoon that it was going to be slower than my TS and my Pursuit Ute but I thought it had so much potential and it is so much cheaper and lighter to upgrade my typhoon than a Gt or GtP.

I find this a little hard to believe that you were thinking that when you ordered your F6.

How did you come to the conclusion that it was going to be slower than your TS?

The F6 is supposed to have 20 more kw, and 50 more Nm of torque. They weigh roughly the same. If anything, the F6 would be lighter.

So how did you 'damn well know' it was going to be slower?

The T3 is no slug, I know. But everyone was expecting mid 13 second times from the F6... EVERYONE. And we all know a T3 won't manage a mid 13 stock.

Sorry, but just sounds like a futile effort to defend your buying decision?

My ts 50 ran a 14.1 at the 1/4 mile and all the things I read about the typhoon

1/4 mile was going to be about 14.5

my ts 50 has 210rwkw

my typhoon had 200.6

end of stories

210rwkw for the TS50 sounds right - a manual I'm guessing. From an engine that develops 250kw@5250rpm and 500Nm@4250rpm. Quarter time=14.1 secs. Check.

200rwkw for the Typhoon, also manual. From an engine that develops 270kw@5250rpm and 550Nm from 2500rpm to 4000rpm. Quarter time=14.5secs. Hmmm, those figures don't add up to me ... It looks to me like Ford are grossly overstating the output of the Typhoon engine.

And you KNEW this before buying the Typhoon??? I wouldn't have bought a $60,000 car knowing that Ford have overstated the engine performance by 12.5%.

But hey, as long as you're happy :sofa:

Yeah, that's pretty much the point I was making. Cheers for that. :sofa:

Guys, there is so much BS out there its not funny. 210rwkw does NOT equate to 250 fwkw.

Most XR8 manuals get around 198-200 rwkw so 205-210 is to be expected of the F6.My guess is that a fully run in F6 should produce around 210-215rwkw which is pretty much what FPV claim. This figure of 200rwkw has been discussed to death now but some choose to use this one off figure to make a point. And what exaclty is that point....THAT YOU ARE :sofa: WITH ENVY.

There is this new product on the market called Mathemagic to help people like yourself with difficuties with Math. Remember to make copies though because you are not the only one in this forum that needs it :smilielol:

Since it is my quote you've pulled I'm assuming your coments are directed to me. Explain please why you believe it is BS that 250fwkw is not equal to about 205-210rwkw.

ALL dyno graphs I've seen for T3 manual show this. If you want to use mathematics here it is:- Assuming around 17% (which is very reasonable by all professional experience) driveline loss for a manual vehicle gives exactly the same result.

AND where the FIICK does an XR8 now find it's way into the argument???

ENVY??? You have to be joking - the last thing I envy is any poor b@stard with a BA of any description!!! I'll stick with my T3 until Ford can remember how to make a decent performance vehicle. Sh!t, I waited nearly 20 years for the T3 to come along as I couldn't find any Ford performance sedan worthy of buying since the demise of the 351 V8s back in '83. Although I nearly went for a Sprint, but that's another story....

I like the look of the Typhoon, both inside and out, and I'm pleased you are happy with yours; and I feel sure that after spending another $10,000 or so you will have a great performance car. Something close to what FPV should have produced in the first place!
