Would You Cancel An Order For A Typhoon?

vuster

With all the information about the performance of the Typhoon, would you cancel your order and sacrifice the $1000 deposit and get another car?

Not to worry.

I've decided not go through the trouble of cancelling the order. I'm gonna stick it out with the Typhoon. It's still the early stages and I just hope better news will follow in the months to come.

I just got really nervous after reading MOTOR magazines attempt of mocking the F6 in which they showed a table of all the ford cars with all the performance times. The F6 was compared to the XR6T, XR8, and the GT. The table implies that the F6 is the slowest of the bunch.

In a word "No"

There is a bit of negative talk about it but you always get more negative than positive talk. Positive guys dont normally want to enter such an argument. I guess time will tell exactly how good or bad the car is.

In saying that I dont have the $ and if its heavier I wouldnt order one at all. :smilielol:

Fair enough vuster. It's hard not to get the jitters considering the on going furore about the Typhoon. It's fair to say that expectations were extremely high(maybe too high?)for this car.No doubt its a well appointed car and a competent performer with a better base spec; mechanically and equipment wise than its little brother.Perhaps some mods down the track and you'll have the truly complete package. :smilielol:

Good on you for having the guts to give it a go. I tossed and turned about cancelling my order (and I had a hell of a lot more to worry about than some FPV-bashers on here :P) but in the end (and a month late) I'm still glad that I went through with it. The thing is, nobody has any experience with a run-in F6. Not Ford, not me, not anyone.

In the absolute and complete worst case, you have an XR6T with a kickass bodykit and superb interior that you can show off in. I'd like to think that in six months we'll have some real animal F6s carving it up out on the street.

Take a load off, have a beer and now that you've decided to go with it, stop worrying and start looking forward to your new baby.

I really suppose it comes down to your personal circumstances, I.e how much they will give you for a trade in, how much you have to spend, and what you actually want.

I answer Yes you should cancel as from my opinion and position I would by a new T and spend the extra dosh building a great car, with aftermarket brakes I know work, suspension, and a power upgrade that will leave the typhoon for dust.

But then again that's what I would do with my $60, everyone differs :smilielol:

@Vuster

Well I suppose if you:?

Wanted a better looking car than the XR6T

Wanted a better drive than the XR6T

Wanted bigger wheels than the XR6T

Wanted Better seats than the XR6T

Wanted more Torque than the XR6T

Wanted better brakes than the XR6T

Wanted FPV status

Wanted better re-sale than the XR6T

Wanted Better Interior than the XR6T

Wanted something more unique than the XR6T

Wanted more Hp????????? Well yet to be seen!!!!!!!!!!

And:

Wanted the easiest and cheapest car to mod (after initial purchase) for 300~375 Rwkw’s

Then don’t cancel the order.

If you want just a XR6T that is just as quick but without the above and the same as the other 10,000 out there then buy the XR6T

Note: all the above can be argued and I don’t want to go there I just posted what comes to mind and everyone has their own views on the above.

At the end of the day Ford have handed you a vehicle that is possibly the easiest and cheapest bang for buck in Aus when it comes to rwkws/$ as I say after purchase cost.

Do what you like to a T and it will be as good and as quick ..as a modded F6 no problems there as underneath they are the same beast.. but at the end of the day you will still just have a T and its re-sale will be the same as every other T out there.

God knows what the re-sale of the F6 will be in 2 years time but one would “hope” it’s good!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe. Possibly?

Look I love my F6 and yes I have 300kw at rears it was my choice

I looked at buying a gt but then I look at the typhoon and thought for an overall package it has it all you will not be disapointed!

But with the edit coming out you should get 30+ kw and you dont need to tell the insurance companys anything

Vuster where do you live I will come around and take you for a lap in mine

Give me a call
