   :w00t2:

My choice would be if I had enough folding stuff

For Cruising - GTP :w00t2: gotta love the sound of the Boss engine

Shear excelaration and smile on your face stuff. - Modded XR6Turbo :w00t2:

Either way I "can't get enough of this"

I have seen my mates standard auto GT pull away (about a car lenght or so) from a stage 2 APS XR6T on the freeway from 60km/h until 160-180. The distance between them was dependent on inital speed and who hit slightly first. Either way the GT pulled away.

Okay, I'll bite

The F6 with only 270Kw can chop up the new 6.0 litre Clubby

80-120 Km/h Rolling in Gear Acceleration, done by Wheels not Motor

----------------------------------------

3rd 4th 5th 6th

Club 297 : 4.0 / 5.7 / 7.5 / 12.8 (both clubby & F6 tested same day)

F6 : 3.8 / 4.7 / 6.6 / 9.6

APS Phase II XR6T ~330 Kw with god knows how much torque regular mid 12 sec 1/4 mile

Standard GT ~290 Kw lucky to nudge very high 13s for the 1/4

Was the APS Phase II XR6 towing a boat maybe?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

By the way I didn't put it there for a :w00t2: stir...

Wheels or Motor only do 30-40km/h increments...To me this does not tell the whole story...If you read what I said it was from 60 to 180km/h...he didn't race off the line...

I am not bagging the APS phase kits...only demonstrating that a lot people underestimate the performance of the GTs from mid to top end..and the same also goes for the LS1 commodores...

I think you'll find that a 2004 model with WARRANTY wil sell for more than a 2003 T with no warranty

Keep dreaming Jeff. My car has warranty on all parts that are not directly affected by my mods. So does yours.

Yeah, there is only 1 person in australia that likes APS products :spoton:

I guess I can understand why though, who would in their right mind would want a awesome, powerfully modified T when they could have a surging, coughing, underpowered T with an edit :w00t2:

I'll take that $100 thanks :w00t2:

I am with you, there is no way in the f#$king world that the GT would pull away from the T with Phase II.Well unless it was towing a boat.

Look I understand you made a decision to purchase a GT for a whole bunch of reasons, and having previously only ever owned V8's myself before I got the T I can understand that there are some things that I miss (noise, instant throttle responce, FEEL etc) that will never be satisfied by the T (or any other non V8) no matter how quick.

That being said if someone asks for opinions on these two vehicles in the context of making a purchase, and you can honestly sit there and type in that you SAW a GT pull away from a phase II T then I am afraid that I for one am going to yell BULLsh*t as loud as I possibly can.

There are a lot of really good reasons for preferring a GT over a Phase II modified XR6T, HOWEVER performance (in a straight line) can NEVER EVER be one of them.

Sorry to mention APS again, but if you think stage 2 is quick you should try stage 3. I've been stage 3 for about 8 months (after running stage 2 for some time) and the car is just awesome. The way a car is meant to be!

I haven't driven a GT, but in my humbe opinion it can be no match for a 390KW Turbo. The performance just makes you swear out loud sometimes!

Sure, you need premium brakes (or mods) and modified valve springs, and probably a modified gearbox and oil coolers, but hell, for the $15,000 extra spend it's still a very affordable car in comparison.

Mate

You can yell bull  , but its not going change anything it happened...BTW have you ever seen a Phase II against a GT?...Do you have a phase II installed?

Anway this thread is about choosing between a GT and standard XR6T.

But I do tend to agree with you that if we are comparing the GT with a phase II T then performance wouldn't be a factor in choosing the car. But then we are not comparing apples with apples..

Don't need to drive a GT to know that a Phase 3 will outgun a GT...It is a great proposition....but once again its not an apples for apples comparison..
