Took over 200 photos at the Summernats yesterday and today and most of the damn things won't download to the computer. :o There were some quite good ones amongst them, particularly the great girls trying to get a suntan on their chests.... :w00t2:

When I try and download them they come up as thumbnails on the computer (well, some of them do at least :glad: ) and you select the ones for download using default program MS Scanner and Camera Wizard. It's then just a matter of following the prompts and clicking on Next. Then it comes up with an error message:

  Quote
The current picture could not be copied. To copy this picture click 'Try Again'. To skip this picture and copy the rest of the pictures, click 'Skip'. To stop copying click 'Cancel'.

The pics are all still viewable through the LCD viewfinder on the camera, even the ones that won't show up at all on the computer. I am using a Datafab brand CFC reader plugged directly into the USB port on the front of my computer. The CFC is 64MB Digicard. Camera is Kodak DC3200.

Any ideas?

I guess maybe find someone else with a CFC reader that is known to work, but the computer seems to recognise it when I plug it in so not sure if this would be the problem.

If the CFC was stuffed surely the pics wouldn't be viewable through the viewfinder?

Another maybe related problem is that sometimes the camera doesn't recognise that it has a CFC in it. When you turn it on it only accesses the internal memory. It is not until you turn the camera on and off a few times or pull the CFC out and then back in as you are turning the camera on that it will recognise the card.

:glad: :sook: :w00t2:

When you have it plugged into your PC, just go into 'My Computer'. You should see it as a drive of some sort (Generally a removeable drive)

Just open it in explorer and copy the files directly rather than using the software

It's how I always do it with my digital photo's

Good Luck !

Could be several problems dude, sounds like possibly dodgy card but, quickest and easiest way to check things out would be to drop into any film processing shop like a kodak store in Canberra they will have readers and could copy your pics to CD if they can read em.

Geezuz don't give your camera to a Kodak store, they'll stuff it up more. How would they know what to do? They can't even fill out a photo processing envelope.

Get the Kodak Camera and throw it as far away as you can :spoton:
