This certainly is an old post...Well, I ended up going the manual, and although it can be a little bit of a dog at times, I'm so glad I chose it. It really is a matter of personal choice, no one can tell you what to get. It's just something you have to experience for yourself I think. Everything in the press points to the auto being the way to go if you plan any mods in the future. Quoted in various sources as good for 500nm+.
