You might find it curves up towards the boot. There is no support on the bumpe in this area. He took his car & Ford are aware of the problem & are now working on a solution to combat this problem (no solution yet). With summer upon us, and if your car is in direct sunlight & heat, check your rear bumper for defect. Get your car checked. As I am a spraypainter and see a lot of XR's & T's with the rear bumper off, there is no were to put a plastic clip or some type of bracket to stop it from flexing in the heat. Its sucked in a few mm above the exhaust. Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/14991-rear-bumper-problems-in-heat/#findComment-208331 Share on other sites

I just checked mine, and it's right in the middle and on the horizontal portion on the bumper where it sits under the bottom edge of the boot. It's more noticeable because of the straight line of the boot edge right above it. The plastic is thin and soft, and flexes easily up and down. Are Ford fixing this under warranty?
