I dont think I will buy this one, as Geeseman said, the fact you can use another car to stop yourself is silly, I bought prologue to see how it was gonna be, since they hype says its the best thing ever. Although the actuall driving is great, the competitor AI and the fact you can bounce of other cars is just annoying.

Although you can use the other cars for braking. Play the game the right way and it is rewarding and challenging. As for the Prologue edition. If it was anything like the concept version that come out a couple of years back the computer cars are extrmely easy. I read somewhere in GT4 that using the cars and walls for braking was suppose to now come with a penilty. The screen gets blurry and speed is majorly limited to like 10mph. This is just what I read. Can not confirm it. Play the professional competition and work your way to the "pro" races then see how "easy" it really is. I own V8 Supercars 2 (94% complete on pro simulator) which I find enjoyable and the car damage is good, but overall my personal opinion is it doesnt even match GT3 never mind GT4. Each to their own of course, but if you really enjoy the technical side of things, messing with suspension settings, gearbox ratios Gran Turismo is awesome. Just control yourself and try your best to drive without using things as a brake and I am sure you will soon realise why the Gran Turismo is the best selling racing game.

Sounds like a hack the programmers made up because they couldnt develop a decent physics engine without severly compomising the graphic engine :nono:

The prologue edition does penalise you for hitting cars, it limits your speed to 10kmph for 10 seconds, the same goes for taking to bigger a shortcut on some tracks, the only problem is that, if a computer controled car is drafting you down the straight and you brake at your braking point, they wont try and make a overtaking move they will just plough into the back of you, and recieve no penalty for that, the computer AI still isnt an improvement in my opinion over GT3, the feel of the cars however is very good.

As far as damage goes, it has always been the case with GT games that becasue the cars look so good some car manufacturers would refuse the licence to the game designers if people could see what there cars looked like damaged, but the same car designers are ok with damage if the cars have racing livery on them, why, becasue rubbing is raceing, the head game designer didnt put the damage model in the game because he would rather all or nothing. I got all that from an interview gamespot did with the chief of game design.

......But will it be available on the xbox?????

No chance. Polyphony digital is virtually Sony.

I have heard that about car damage before too that some of the manufactuers didnt want their cars being smashed up in the game. It's a shame.

Mate, I have experianced the exact same thing when playing V82. Computer drafts down main straight and I am rear ended when I hit the brakes for turn 1. Worst part is being the car damage caused because the computer lacks intelligence.

GT4 IS a Simulator, V8 Supercars is Arcade based. And I for one will trade realistic handling over damage any day. Plus you get the bonus of better graphics, much better graphics.
