Once in a while, it's good to see commonsense prevail....    :kissmy:

I just received my reply from Cricket Australia and it sounds like they got beseiged with complaints about this issue. As a result, CA have backed down and will allow any ticket holder to bring whatever camera gear they choose to the cricket. Venue staff may approach patrons to verify that they are not professional photographers and remind you that legal action will be brought if you are there for commercial purposes.

So, I can now happily snap away and flash my business card if anyone taps me on the shoulder again. Pleased with the outcome, especially when CA did the right thing in reviewing their processes without the need for lawyers.  :spoton:

Have to wait until next summer now to test this new ruling out.

:gooff: I was thinking about this very topic over Easter!!

Great news L.C. :crybaby:

There on thin ice with this one. IMO just have 2 flash cards. Rotate them regualry and hide the other one down your daks.

When this sort of crap going to stop?

Move around a lot at the game. Just because you have a big lens dosnt make you a pro. You only have to see most of the shots ine paper to prove that......

In my opinion Cricket in general has gone downhill ever since it became more than a 'sport' and turned into a business.

Since grounds became stadiums and Cricket Aus thought it was perfectly OK to have security gaurds standing on the boundry 'Crazy Eyeing' the patrons having a good time.

I am still lamenting the loss of my beautiful Gabba, with it's Fig Tree's and Bench Seat (don't miss the dog track) the Hill and the Old Score Board... :msm:

Not necessary. All you need to know is how data is stored on any media card.... :ermm:

Most media cards use the FAT16 filesystem by default. All FAT16 does when you "delete" a file is rename the file by turning the first character of the filename to an underscore ("_") and then marking the non-volatile memory clusters used by that file as free. As long as those clusters are not over-written, you can retrieve the data anytime you wish. Doing this with a linux box is soooo easy (mount & copy), but windows folk need a little software program to do the work. :ermm:

I was never worried about having my photos "erased". My issue was around why I was being picked on in the first place. Now that CA have come to a very sensible resolution on the matter, I'm a "happy little vegemite"...
