The security staff there also stood up for me and argued with their officials that nobody in their right mind would buy photos of the Pommy test team so it could not be for commercial gain Just kidding, no way I would waste my good money on watching the Poms! Agree totally that there's no point in getting stroppy. However, I'd have dug my toes in when they wanted to delete the photos and "politely" refused. After all, surely we're innocent until proven guilty and you were not taking photos for commercial purposes. The only difference beween you and the bloke with his box brownie/basic digital would be the quality of the equipment and the resulting images...hardly an objective criterion!Cheers to you for having a "recovery plan". I'd love to know more about this if you could point to a website that would help me understand how it's done.

Did the plan work? I saved a few wedding photos this way after one of my "mates" decided to play with the camera and kindly got rid of a few photos for me.Trent. I also used to know a bloke who took rolls and rolls of film every match at SCG and North Syd oval ,including pics of players who used to sign them after- never did anyone question anything ,and why would they- what's the country coming to ?? I'd be writing a letter to the SMH letters section - better chance of action and understanding than the telegraph with Cricket , at least to highlight what the SCG are doing .regards:blink:

He you never know LC, you might be able to get some pics together and turn it into one of those insanely overpriced portraits they advertise during the drinks breaks.Dazza. I really didn't think it was a possibility. I'd be rapt if anyone could point me in the right direction cos I reckon this could be very useful. Dazza.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Channel 9 may have the rights to any pics (still or video) but if there are no signs up banning photography for private purposes and cameras are allowed into the ground freely then there shouldn't be a problem with Phil (or anyone else) taking a few snaps for themselves. It shouldn't matter what sort of camera he had, whether it was worth $20 or $20,000, that's totally up to Phil how much he chooses to spend on camera equipment. Definitely write a letter to the cricket mob expressing your "strong displeasure" and ask for clarification of the photography rule. Let them explain themselves before you go to the media with it, I would only do that if the answer you receive back (if you get one) is unsatisfactory. I doubt very much it would be worth getting involved in legal action as the expense of this would far outweigh any loss incurred (especially as you aren't a commercial photographer so it's not like loss of income). Lord Cyric Just sit back and enjoy the ride...! So I wouldn't be taking my precious camera out anyway. SCG Webcam Couldn't get a hold of anyone useful from Cricket Australia this morning. Apparently most of them are up here for the game, leaving the Melbourne office with a skeleton crew. I did have a good chat with the SCG Liason Officer to CA however. According to her, there were a number of professional photographers sneaking into the MCG last week. Hence the folks from CA are quite touchy at the moment for anyone spotted with a decent camera in the crowd. She understands the situation, but there isn't anything she can do as they have to follow the instructions given to her by CA. On the plus side, I did get a phone number that I'll be ringing on Friday when the game is over and the CA folks are back in Melbourne.
