Sorry guys but the price might be dependant on where you are. I can't believe the amounts I'm hearing! In Perth the dealer delivery was between $595 & $850. (guess which one I picked!) $1600 is ridiculous!

....the standard dealer delivery fee for any one who is getting the employ price is $795. ....

Hmmm...

Is that %795 fixed or do they add GST on top of it. Even if they do it still does not add up to $901.45.

Regrads,

Hey, thank for the responses re: Dealer delivery, for any further responses could you include the dealership? I should be picking up my car on Tuesday (providing they didn't stuff up again [read not happy jan]) and I would like to take all these prices to them and try and get some money back...although I have already signed the contract, should be interesting.

Thanks,

Chris

21% off RRP. I'd be updating every year with this sort of discount. Even with full fleet discount it might be worth updating every month as 2nd hand XR6ts would command a good price on the 2nd hand mkt.

When I purchased my VT Supercharged S pac in 98 I paid no dealer delivery. I found phoenix Expensive Daewoo in Perth the best dealer by far. They were really prepared to negotiate on a deal.

By the way, I would be prepared to marry any one of you blokes who work for ford just to get the 21% FoMoCo discount. I am a bloke but I'm not queer. I just want a good price on my XR6t.

Does anyone know what discount car dealers get. If its decent it might be worth becoming one for a week or two.

Well, I went and had a dip at the dealer yesterday about my rediculus PD charge, and I showed a list of charges from other dealers of which they were the most expensive. I rang a couple of dealers and was told there is a Victorian Dealer Council that sets the price at $1495 for PD, don't know how true this is but when I told my sales guy this he simply said it was set by the principal and now they were charging $1990 on XR6T's. Me thinks he speaks some $hit. However, when I bought my car they told me there was a 2% price increase so it would be $44900 roughly... well, as it turned out prices only went up 1.5% or so, and the current price is $44640. I know it's petty, but I don't see why they should get anything extra when they already make a massive margin, deceive me on the actual price, and stuff up my delivery which I have been waiting for since Jan 6. Another $260 ($44900-$44640) I can put towards and alarm or tint or something...

Just checked the invoice for our car, PD was $745 (New Oak)

l think PD is negotiable and l would be very suprised if there is a body for setting it, that sounds ridiculous. It just a charge to cover delivery from the factroy and preperation for delivery with a profit on top. If the dealer is charging full retail then they cant hike the car anymore, so they shaft you on the PD. Just greed. These are the same dealers that were crying into their hands trying to sell the AU, now the shoe is on the other foot.

Maybe PD could justifiably be higher in say Queensland as opposed to Melb where the car only travels 20km factory to dealer. But who knows, maybe Ford gives the dealers in other states breaks to cover delivery
