Hello,

This is my first turbo powered car and I like the things I am hearing about the new stealth or edit but I have a couple of questions about it.

I am not very mechanically minded so please bear with me.

I am sure the standard car is capable of 7 lb of boost and 240 kw.

The new stealth is apparently running either 8 or 10 lb options and 300 to 350 kw (engine) respectively.

So that means that you get a 60 kw engine gain for only 1 lb of extra boost?

It sound like a few of you think the car runs better at the 8 lb option so if I am to spend $1295 on a stealth I would be interested to know where the extra power is coming from.

Do they re map the computer as well?

The 10 lb option really interests me and I am sure it goes like hell but if the 8lb option is better its important to know if the power they are stating is being achieved.

If you guys could shed some light on this that would be great :banghead:

Cheers Gavin

Stock boost is less than 6psi (some cars peak at 6 in cold weather but don't run the full 6 all that often.

So at over a 2 lb increase, it is feasable with a corrected map.

So just go and buy it.

Hi Gavin. The standard T runs has about 5psi boost around 2500-3000rpm and tappers off to 4psi higher in the rev range. In certain conditions it will peak at 6lb. If the edit carries 8psi through the whole rev range this would be a massive increase.

Gavin,

I'm pretty sure that the stock boost is no more than 6 psi. So the increase is 2 psi. The performance gain is also from more fuel being added along with the extra boost and more timing. Better Air/fuel mixtures.

THe Edit certainly produces the power gains it is stating. The 60 kw would most likely be for a manual, I'd expect 40 odd kw if you car is an Auto.

Still good value for money which ever way you look at it. :banghead:

I have the Edit, and this is the best thing I have ever bought. 8 PSI is a huge increase in Power (I don't know about 300kW at the motor, but it would have to be close to 280? The 10 PSI would easily be 300kW).

I have a boost gauge in the car, and yes stock peaks at 6 PSI, but is mainly 5 PSI (This is also backed up by a stock Dyno graph I have)

Hope this helps

Mal

That all sounds pretty good. I have a boost gauge as well and I see 5 quite often and 6 occasionally and saw 8 yesterday. Ive been giving the car a bit of stick lately to work the boost side of things out so I can see 2 lbs extra being a good increase especially if its right through the rev range.

Really like the sound of 10 lb though and yes I will be getting one once my wedding is all over at the end of Feb so I will have plenty of time to listen to everyones feed back on the latest mod to a great car. :banghead:

Do you see 8 regularly? How is traction in 1st and second?

Gav I doubt you would be able to run the 10psi option with the standard injectors, they max out at about 280kw. And yes do the valve springs, even if your only going for a small power increase, its better to be safe than sorry.

you can run the 10psi on standard injectors... the two maps are for stock cars remember... I have been in a ar that runs the 10psi... feels great!!
