I take my car to the snow and Lake Eucumbene quite regularly through winter. The turb LOVES the sub zero weather. It's the heat they don't like. Let the good times roll mate.

A few of the guys on the forum here went up to Bathurst a few months ago during winter and it was cold and sleeting and a number of cars were suffering from the overboost syndrome.

MS700 (Mick) is from Canberra and he says his car overboosts quite regularly but he has CAI and exhaust on his car which may be adding to the problem.

I am from Canberra too, my car is stock, never had it overboost here yet but it did happen recently at Mt Wellington in Tasmania (air temp was ~4deg). Pulled over to the side of the road, turned it off and restarted and off I went again, no problem. Only happened the once. I was only using just over 1/2 throttle at just under 4000rpm when it happened.

Can someone quickly explain the symptoms of overboost? My car's behaved unusually once or twice - like slow to take off in first (like a limp home mode before clearing its throat) after a hard run, but I'm not sure how overboost rears its ugly head.

Thanks

Mark
