It was good to meet you guys. Great photos Phil - How far back in the stands were you? Now that's better then the cricket - isn't it :ermm:

My mate with the black 5-speed XR6T won the $200 for second place in the reaction times with a .023 RT. He ran a best of 14.6 whilst my best (stock 6-speed) was 14.7 @ 98mph with some very wussy 60ft times. I was paranoid about a slipping clutch so I bogged it down on every run.

I'm up for another go - but it will have to be in Winter...

What did first place get ?

$300 with a 0.01 RT 3rd place was $100 and if the 0.000 was earlier it would have scooped a jackpot

First time at the drags, had fun but a little dissapointed in XR8/myself.

Had 6 runs and the utes engine cut out 3 times around the 1000ft mark between 4000-5000 RPM.  (obviously the PCM upgrade by Ford has not solved this problem.)

Of the remaining 3 runs my best was:-

ET 15.003

MPH 96.1

60ft 2.27.

The question for those that know is:-

Does the ET and MPH match (I was hoping for a 14 sec pass). Where am I going wrong or is the car just crap or me or both?

Chris with that MPH you should be good for low to mid 14's, it's your 60ft that let you down with a 2.27. It would be also interesting to see what you speeds were in each stage of the track, whether you lost or gained.

It just gets better :smilielol:

I just got off the phone with WSID as I was curious about the "jackpot" for the 0.000 R/T. Apparently it went off last meet ( $700.00 ) and the kitty has not built up enough to offer it again. :smilielol:

So If I had done the 0.000R/T before 9.00pm, last year, I would have scored $1000.00.

Knowing my luck 10 other people would have the same time and we would have to split the cash.

Nothing surer :censored: for first time out Eugene's setup and his drives certainly did him no harm last night. Temperatures less than mid 20s with current setup will see him pull a 12.8 or better , great to see another quick T at the creek

The heat last night was a killer for sure, everyone I spoke to was .3 - .5 off the pace :ermm::pooh: . Only a few months till it cools down a tad, and bugger it, Brian will have that STI weapon in the 11s :pinch:Next Challenge your T mate, 2 cars in the 11s aint bad bragging rights :o

PS .........Phil great work behind the lense mate :spoton:

Twas a great night, certainly a good line-up of competitors in all manner of sh1t boxes and fantastic cars. What really surprised me was that there were very few commodores running other than a handful of VTs and older. Not much new compared to the number of Ts running.

Thanks for a great night guys.

Thanks for the kind words guys, I had a ball, red light and all.

I was so wound up I didnt use the intercooler spray, so I have no idea if it works, I also forgot to switch to my other map for the last run as planned.

it has alittle more boost and timing, but I think the heat soak in the engine had me after 4 runs in 80 mins.

I cant recall who got me the drink, mmm orange fanta, I was buzzin from sugar the whole way home, thanks heaps, really good to see some faces etc.

I will wait until may, by then I hope to have had it tuned and maybe even an APS edit, mid 12's here I come.

By the way, I ran it over the wiegh bridge today, registered and certified by RTA

Auto ute, sports bar, tarp, 17's, tow bar (1200kg), 1/2 tank fuel, NO SPARE or JACK, no driver and cabin and tray empty of junk, just like last night.

1765 kg, without me in the car, so add 115kg fo me gives a total of 1880kg rolling, damn it is a heavy sucker, remember, NO spare or Jack and half a tank.

I may remove the tarp, bows and tailgate for the next one and see how 50kg less goes.

Thanks for the reply.

R/T .335

60' 2.271

330' 6.510

660' 9.826 @ 74.88mph

1000' 12.636

ET 15.003 @ 96.12

Ute including me 1920Kg.

Auto in pwr mode.

Standard 17" dunlop sp3000 at normal driving pressures. (I think maybe a lot of people adjusted their pressure????)

Could these figures indicate excessive wheel spin?????

Ford supposedly has a new pcm upgrade from the States which they claim (again)

will fix my cutting out problem. it goes it on Tuesday. Here's hoping.

Thanks again, Chris
