I'll be staying in Sydney for a few nights in January and was hoping for some reccommendations on places to stay. I have 2x11yr olds and a 3 yr old. I'd prefer somewhere that had things for kids to do. Not really fussed what area. I'd like to catch up with the Sydney crew possibly Tuesday night (18th) and I'm going racing Wednesday night. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

If your kids like the beaches, I suggest you try somewhere around Manly/Queenscliff which are on the North side of the Harbour. Great beaches, lots of restaurants, a short ferry ride to the City or to Taronga Zoo. If you can't get accommodation there, go slightly further north to Curl Curl etc, it is still only a 10-15 drive south to those features. All the beaches along that strip are great for that age group. Good surf but safe for kids to swim as well. The trip to WSID from that area would take you about an hour.

I agree - go the North Shore somewhere if you can. I don't know what your budget is, but my recommendation would be the Manly Pacific. Literally on the beach, great food, great views (in every sense of the word) and only about ten minutes from my place :w00t2: I guarantee that you'll see my gf and I down there in the F6... speaking of which, we might have to see if we can give you an escort up to Willowbank (I assume that is what the trip to Sydney is in aid of?)

Any excuse to cruise in the F6! Plus, I have some mates in Brisbane that want to see her. Might as well go in good company :lol:

Thanks for the reply's guys. The North Shore sounds good. I'm working the next couple of nights and then we have xmas. On Monday I'll be doing the books hopefully so keep the ideas coming.

The purpose of the trip is the family holiday. I take 2 weeks every year and get as far away from work as I can. It just happens that I have managed to fit in days at WSID and Willowbank this year and hopefully a cruise or 2. The kids love the theme parks and we will definately be going to a few.

I'm looking forward to meeting as many of you guys as possible.

Yeah, I can think of a few theme parks:

Kings Cross theme park - Specialises in sexual depravity and backpacking;

Western Sydney theme park - Specialises in Bogans in VL commodores;

Inner West theme park - Specialises in alternate lifestyles where it is unnecessary to wash your (pink) hair on a regular basis;

North Shore theme park - Where you go to get the silver spoon shoved up your butt;

South West theme park - Where the challenge is to maintain life in temps above 37C;

Eastern Suburbs theme park - The great fun of this one is trying to find a carpark that is no further than 1000m from your front door.

Is there anyone I haven't offended?
