So if it can be used on upto 5 cars, If I buy one for my Auto XR6T and then in 2 years I upgrade to a manual GT can it still be used? I guess CAPA or Herrord's would need to reset it to suit (probably at an extra charge). Can anyone tell me what would need to happen and if it could happen?

I guess at worst case it could be sold!

I think that as long as the computer remains the same the flasher will download into it. All you need to do is change the software.

JB its undetectable.

Prove me wrong.

Forgive me for being arrogant, if it comes accross that way, but.......

You are selling a product of which people are asking questions. These questions will only be answered by the likes of JB and maybe myself if and when the product is fitted, then taken to a dealer and 'found out' hence defeating the purpose of the whole 'stealth' approach.

Stealth means not visible, generally that means to the naked eye, or radar.. The scan tool, however is not the naked eye, but closer to a radar. PCM records boost spikes and like everyone knows, rpm limits reached, top speed etc. So if the thing boosts to 10psi, then is that information deleted/written over or not, and what goes in it's place?? it's a simple question for someone having complete knowledge of there product I would have thought??

If you can answer the question, then maybe you will start selling units like there is no tomorrow, if you can't, you cast doubt in the minds of potential buyers.

With a remark of, "it's undetectable, prove me wrong" shows a complete lack of understanding of consumer needs, an unwillingness to find out and provide basic customer support..

my 2c, keep the change....

I am dissapointed in the lack of response to what I believe are valid questions.

It's amazing how some businesses work in today's environment. :spoton:

People have pointed out that the sofware can erase certain things and keep others

My questions is even if this is the case in simplistic terms, if it wipes the data logged alltogether that will certainly raise questions.

If it retains some and wipes others then surely something will not add up, I.e boost levels being excessively high without recording an error code? or similar instaces in the recording of data.

As stated I think there are a number of questions raised on the this and the previous page that would benefit us all in understanding. Most of us want to as we are looking at the product, and we are on this forum as enthusiats.

Surely if you were promting a product, getting people excited about it, and knowledgeable about it would be a benefit.

The US version here: http://www.modulardepot.com

Much cheaper than ours(US$375 vs approx. AU$1300), plus freebies like the cable and tuner software. I wonder if it would work out here on our BAs? They also say that they will provide you with a custom tune based on your vehicle setup (details that you supply them I guess?) once you order it.

Plus they say that you can download updates and more tunes from them via the web as required...sounds pretty good.

Im with you. After all the talk over the last few months Im surprised some of these guys arent actually trying to sell it.

I dont think they can say its still being developed or they are still learning about it. You would have thought all of that would have been done before it was put on the market.

Sure a 50 rkw gain is great but does this little gadget have any surprises for us?

Cutsnake,

You may be forgetting the Quicktune software option.  This allows you to up/download different tunes between a PC and the flacher.  I don't theink it has been released in OZ yet.  In the US, it appears that the software is supplied FOC with the flasher.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I had a look at the original software that uploads the files to the flasher and it only allows you to upload to one of three slots (I.e. not F).. Also after digging up some more info I found this response in the SCT forum for a similar question. The reply is from the designers of the product:-

no, the F is always the factory program that is first loaded into the Xcalibrator's memory the first time it is connected to a vehicle.

You can flash from performance program to performance program without a problem.

So what you are saying is that the only way to empty the "F" slot is to get the software from CAPA? And this can only be done 5 times before a trip to the States?

From what I know:

1: F= factory setting

2:You can change your OWN car as many times as you like!

3:You can flash 4 other Ts but they all have to go back to FACTORY SETTING before you can flash the next one

So 5 different flashes and your OUT :nono:

ANSWER: DONT FLASH any other car
