well ive been a bit quiet about edit and as I was reading the post about the thte intercooler pipe coming off I thought there should have been more power from the sct ,so I check and there it was pipe  was off  ...well I connected it and away I went ...the power is just magic  and that is at 8psi I havae a manual and to just take off normally and plant isc and get wheel spin is  great ..all I can say is damn double points

Brad will you be making the trek to WSID on Jan 12th. It would be great to see an edited T run down the 1/4. :spoton:

question ..would you car loser power if the intercooler pipe came off

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I can't remember hearing this happening on the Ford, but I expect that the IC pipes should be pretty well clamped. IC pipe coming off is more likely where aftermarket kits have been fitted. If a clamp is not tight enough, a hose is most likely to separate when you give it a bootfull and you'll lose all power and probably cut out. It hasn't happenend on my Ford, but on my other cars where this has happened, and quite a few times, the car can be restarted, will act very sick, idles very roughly, massively overfuelling and giving out black smoke, as the air flow sensor is being bypassed.

Someone may have tested this on their Ford.

BCL,

I have had the pipes off on my car, and because Ford doesn't actually have an Air Flow Sensor, (it works of Manifold Pressure) there is no issue with overfuelling etc.. It is basicaly then a low compression N/A !

Idle is fine, just don't expect performance ! Ask Geea, with his boostless run at Calder !

Hope this helps

Thanks, it's good to know it's still drivable though.

Ok - Traction Control

It's all the extra power that is farking it up.

If I drive it like a complete tool, and keep my foot flat to the floor, even when the TC comes on, it turns itself off (on a dry road anyway).

If I drive it like a "normal human" (using my wifes words not mine) and TC comes on, and I back off just a little (with TC still flashing), than TC doesn't disable??

TC doesn't disable on a wet road regardless of how long the TC is on for.

Summary - You should stop driving like a Complete Tool! (yes dear :) )

I hope this information is interesting to some anyway.
