The flash can't be changing everything because the Trip computer remains unchanged. I'd suspect that any information collected by Ford would be saved in the same spot as the trip computer, and therefore not changed??

I have no idea, I'm just guessing :)

that's a good point. If Trip data is saved somewhere, you have to wonder what else is?
good dialogue going... now wheres Street Tuner to answer this?!
Good question!

Manuals have more power than autos, autos are quicker.

In a straight line........ :w00t2:

I can't speak for Tuna as he knows what the Edit program reflashes. I would imagine that it would be the engine and drive train parameters only.

If is was a scheduled service and unless they came across a lot of codes ot would probably not be an issue. If however you are making a warranty claim it might be a little different.

Most Ford Techs probably won't bother checking, if however there is a lot of codes and a switched on Tech decides to investigate further, don't be suprised if they suspect something, especially if your making a warranty claim for something.

I've raised this question before and no one has been able to answer. I've seen inside the actual Ford PCM software, and the amount of info the PCM stores and is capable of recording. Do not under estimate what its capable of logging, it logs S :spoton: loads of stuff.

Remember Ford are aware of this software and will be watching with interest.

It was and is my main concern with the edit program. If Ford finds out you've hacked into their software made changes and than tried to change it back to make a claim, I for one don't think they will take a far dimmer veiw of it than, if you have a piggyback system.

Completely agree with you macka. Which is why I find it very hard to accept that a reflash from the CAPA unit will clear everything. Ford no doubt know about this bit of gear just as Expensive Daewoo would have known about LS1 edit.

My interest here is not being able to get warranty work knowing full well I caused the damage. I'm more concerned about being put on the so called blacklist and finding it causing problems down the track with issues unrelated to an edit.

I'm pretty sure one of the SCT reps on the "other" forum said that everything was cleared with a reflash, again find it very hard to belive! **

**Note, I haven't read the "other" forum since before xmas and since there has been a few drinks between then and now, errors and omissions are expected

just looking @ FF 2nite (bored and even more so after the fact), I think it was Dave@SCT stated in one of the threads that he guarantees Ford would be none the wiser...

(how pointless was this post hehe)

Still waiting however on a response to the questions above, from the people who have previously been so eager to inform us all about this product. :ermm:

I for one, don't see what all the fuss is about.

What's wrong with telling the Ford guys to leave the PCM alone and do not re-flash as you have the Edit ?

So what if they know, what about all the guys that have the piggyback which is quite obvious ?

Also all the other little mods that people have made ?

Simply if your sensible with your mods and open and honest Ford is more likely to help you that go against you.

What's the point in hiding things if your prepared to mod your T ?

Daniel, from my perspective it's more to do with wanting to understand and gain as much knowledge as possible on this product.

The other part is CAPA have used the line of being undetectable as a selling tool against the piggyback units. So if you are selling the features of your product and someone asks a question in wanting to understand it further, you should answer them, not just use it to try win people over.

My dealer is fully aware of my mods, as I said it's just more to undertsand and have them justify the statements they have been making.
