I have been to Nuford Wangara a few times now and they have been fairly good thus far, the chick at the counter is hot too...

I have used them before and there problem is they can only fix things up to 80% better.

that's not what you want to hear when your getting some warranty work done. :spoton:

My T is definately suffering from overboost. Does anybody know if this reflash really works? Has anyone had the reflash and is happy with the result?

Call my car crazy :spit: , but it only suffers from overboost under hard acceleration uphill. :spoton:

I had the same problem (going up hill) I complained of overboost but my dealer told me it was high speed miss-fire (car has more load going uphill?). The fix was to regap the plugs.

Don't know if this was bull on not, but I have not had a problem since...

P.S. Boost gauge shows 6 PSI and even more sometimes so I don't think they bypassed the solenoid to fix my problem.

Just out of interest, are you using premium (98 octane) or 95 octane or normal unleaded (92-3 octane) petrol?

What you state, and the fact a hill is involved makes me wonder if your ECU is winding things back because it is sensing detonation approaching fast.

If you dont use 98 Octane, run your tank near empty, fill it up with Shell Optimax or better yet Mobil 8000 (I find it runs that little bit better in XR6T's), and then see if the same problem occurs at the same place (or similar places).

Whilst you can technically run a 6T on standard unleaded, it wont run as well on hot days or under load (such as up hills). Its timing will be changed to suit the lower octane fuel.

May not be your problem, but I have had similar problems in other cars caused by lower octane fuel and the ECU's alteration of timing to prevent detonation.

Got it done today, cant notice a huge difference, but I only drove from the dealer - petrol station - home.

The power doesnt come on as sharp, but it doesnt surge either. I will have to stretch her legs in the next couple of days and see.

I also noticed an unexpected difference in my fuel economy between Shell premium and BP 98... over the last few weeks I have noticed my economy drops when I use ultimate 98, by around 30 - 40km per tank. Quite bizarre I thought, I'll keep an eye on it to see if I'm just seeing things...

Well I had the flash installed on Friday, and it's f*cked my car. My fuel comsumption has gone through the roof and it's stalling constantly. I think I can resolve the fuyle consumption as I need a re-tune on my chip, but the stalling ahs got worse not better. My dealer thinks it may be because mine is a manual, and the idle's are set differently for the transmitions. He does not think they variated the new tunes to compensate this.

Anyway just keep battling along I suppose.
