Guest TRACK Guests Posted 23/12/04 10:36 AM Share Posted 23/12/04 10:36 AM NighEve, Don't they tell you this "every" time you pick up your car. Mine do, regardless of results. My car was reflashed at 2:30pm today. Basically I just lobbed, parked it in the way and said fix this, and they did. Whilst chatting to the mechanic during the process, he said that Ford were basically aware of these issues from day 1, and many more that they would not publically admit to. Ford had told the dealer that this program was the ducks guts and the answer to all their problems. Mine was the first car this dealer had done, and he was quite excited to see how it goes. ME TOOOO! I said.Anyway only done about 15km since then, and most in solid traffic. Although I did get a small window of opportunity to load it up in 3rd (90-130km/hr), and it definitely was smoother, hard to say if it was any quicker, but it was definitely smoooooother! Time will tell, we'll see how it goes, bit at least it's a positive start! Regards

My opinion of it is that they have improved it and yet I believe it is still far from satisfactory in my books (to suggest that there is a problem with some other part or even bring the exhaust mods I have into the equation does not appear to be a valid reason for the trouble with the Ford tune, now that I have seen the Edit tune working faultlessly).Just my thoughts - hopefully other people have a better outcome... Guest TRACK Guests Posted 26/12/04 01:03 PM Share Posted 26/12/04 01:03 PM Put another 150kays on it today after the reflash. Suffered a couple of HUGE flatspots on light to medium throtle, along with dipping revs on return to idle. No real improvement here. No real oppertunity to use WOT and revs, as stuck in Sydney traffic, with the family in the car and double demerit points on offer!

To be honest, I wouldn't care how much fuel it used, as long as it ran as it was meant too!!Did they by-pass your boost soleniod? As when they did this to my car the fuel consumption really increased. From 13.8 up to 15.5L/100km.

Fuel consumption changes almost exactlly as you quoted. And felt gutless. I put up with it for a month and then insisted they change it back. fuel consumption now back to good again. Power back to normal. Funny thing is, I have not had any more 'cutting out' problems!
dave- Member 157 Member For: 20y 24d Location: Melbourne Posted 29/12/04 01:33 AM Share Posted 29/12/04 01:33 AM (edited) I think I had the overboost twice last week while cruising around. Going up a slight hill, in 3rd or 4th gear, at about 3000-4000rpm the car just starting missing, exactly like it would when TC kicks into nazi mode! I just kept the foot down and after 2-3secs it stopped. If that's "overboost" then the MkII isn't fixed!I'm hesitant to get Ford to do a reflash if it's going to make matters worse. I'm happy for fuel consumption to increase though, just don't want the power to decrease!!! It's not enough as it is Edited 29/12/04 01:34 AM by dave-

Have given it a few spirited runs and all seems to be fine I guess time will tell. Also was advised by dealer that front rotors had been replaced due to brake shudder.WTF. I only had a slight vibration and was not concerned but they claim that my build date April 04 justified the new rotors under Warranty.

I remember the car feeling a bit different after I got it back. How can I tell if they did bypass the solenoid (and where is it)? Would they just unplug it?
