What did you have to do to make sure the engine will handle it? <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I'm not sure of the $cost for rods alone, as all my work was packaged.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Depending on what brand of rods are used about $4K is the figure I've heard. DucatiJB may be able to give you more info on brands. Then there are forged pistons to buy and h/d rod bolts. Wouldn't get much change from $10K I expect.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>CAPA have $1895.00 for billet rods listed on their website and $1450.00 for the forged pistons not installed of course! These prices seem high compared to old school V8 gear so some shopping around may find something that is better pricedQuality is always going to be the most important aspect though! It does have a long stroke, but really its not that long. If Ford simply increase the cut out to 6500 and moved peak power out to ~6000 rpm with some cam tweaking etc these engines would make LOADS more power, not to mention get less changes over the 1/4 or to 100.. It would certainly make it feel alot sporter.. You could imagine a XR6 NA making 220kw @ 6500 rpm would be killer as would a hipo XR6T making 280kw at exactly the same boost as a standard T..
