APS etc are all outer eastern suburbs, I need inner east or city. If you find a good tuner, let me know.Luke. Member 192 Member For: 21y 4m 1d Location: Melbourne Posted 13/12/04 12:52 PM Share Posted 13/12/04 12:52 PM Dutchie,Let me state first that I have nothing to do with EMS, other than using the products !As for long term results though, I have used EMS ECU's for a few years, and have had no problems !I think experience is the important bit ! But you have to get the right tuner (with experience), then any solution would be reasonable ! Just some more reasonable than others ! The car also had an issue of going into limp mode around 4000rpm.I bit the bullet and had the Xede pulled out and a Unichip fitted and I have never looked back. The car has behaved from day one with the Unichip the way I had hoped. Not once has it stalled, the problem at 4000rpm has not happened again either.I have since gone all the way to the full APS Phase III kit and still have a car that my mother could drive with flawless road manners under partial throttle condition with good fuel economy and monster performance when I ask the car to perform. The second half of the story is the tuner who and people who work on your car. The best system on earth is only as good as the person tuning.I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending APS in Melbourne. Feel free to give them a call and pay them a visit, no matter what people say about Peter and his organisation, I challenge anyone to question the proffesionalism of APS from design and engineering to installation and quality of the workshop.I have spent a lot of time in workshops with my T and Rob at APS is one of the best tuners in the Country, his understanding of the Unichip and it's role in the XR6 turbo is fantastic. He is no bunny being just as at home with Motec and alike.Anyway there is my 2c worth but my advice is to take a look around and visit any workshops and speak to the people involved before you make a choice and go for the one you feel most comfortable with. I dont recall reading any negative posts on APS' Unichip or the Xede offering either.I would decline the free butt plug that comes with Powerchip though, god knows why they offer one of those as a freebie! I don't think the others are worth risking your money on until their developement is finished. That's my opinion.Rob Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/14596-looking-at-possibly-chipping-the-t/#findComment-198983 Share on other sites
