Hi,

I found these rims and they have the following specs;

18x8 5x114.3 ET:+40

I was wondering what the 'ET:+40' means (offset?) and if that would suit a BA?

Cheers! :spoton:

Off set is the distance between the centre of the rim where it goes on to the hub and the out side of the rim.

On the ba's it is 114 mm as with the au's.

Sorry GOLDIE, have to correct that. Offset is the distance from the hub back to the centre of the rim. On AU/BA it is anywhere from 32mm to 38mm. 40mm offset will go on without a problem in most instances.

XtRmn8 - they should be OK as the 40mm is indeed the offset figure.

Thanks for the help!!

If 38mm is max, does that mean the wheel will sit 2mm in or out from the 38mm max??

It will sit 2mm further inwards ... that is why I say 40mm SHOULD be OK, BUT depending on the actuual width of the rim and the size of tyre fitted there could be a clearance problem at your front upper ball joint.

I spoke to the suplier and the rims also come in 18x7.5 and I want 235 rubber on them. They are the same spec (size) as the Lowenheart rims that GOLDIE has so they should fit! They said they will fit.

Finally found a rim that I like and would look good on the Fairmont :thumbsup:
