Last Saturday night some ba$tard debadged my XR6T on my front lawn, taking the boot XR6 and Turbo badge, bastards must have used a screwdriver or knife to get them off and managed to scratch the paint down to the bare metal in numerous places. The most annoying thing is that the badges just stick on and if they wanted them so badly they could have at least just peeled them off or heck buy them from ford spares for around $20 each...

Just gives me the $hits to think they are just hanging on some teenage kids bedroom wall or something...

So after paying around $350 to have the damage repaired at File Finish in Melbourne (www.filefinish.com.au) I dont know whether to leave the badges off or replace them, I think they kindof complete the car but perhaps its best to just wait a while to hopefully the XR6T novelty wears off just a bit, or maybe I just get the XR6 badge and go N/A incognito....

Sorry to ramble but I just needed to vent my spleen...

Regards,

Ben.

Ben

Sorry to hear mate i know how you feel, after some little Toe Rag decided mine needed a couple of nice big key mark's down the side and across the boot(the pics are hear somewhere).

Personaly I left my badges off for the same reason as what has just happened to you, got the replacements locked away in a draw at home so when it comes time to sell there ready to wack back on.

It makes the rear end look cleaner IMHO anyway.

$350's less than the excess i forked out.

Sorry to hear about that Ben, I bet the money spent on repairs could have went to something good. Personally I would leave the badges off, just in case these idiots come back, if they are low enough to do it once they are low enough to do it again.

I've taken the "Turbo" badge of the boot. I felt like I was leaving it parked with a sign "steal me" hanging off the back. I've left the XR6 badge so that the punters think it's just the common garden variety XR6. only an enthusist would know it's a Turbo.

Sorry to hear that Ben.

Man that bites. If only you could have caught them in the act. That sux. As long as the car still looks A1 and there wasn't too much damage done.

Hmmm, well mine is the "garden variety"......lol. Maybe in a few months she will have a lot more growl to her, lets just say I know someone that can obtain some pretty cool stuff now. I also wish this 'family member' spoke up sooner as we would be driving a TURBO! Oh well, them's the breaks I suppose.

So I'll just leave the "XR6" badge on hey, even though something way more menacing will be growling from underneath the bonnet in the next few months to year away.

Well funny you people are concerned about the TURBO badge holding the steal me lable because 8 XR6T vehicle badges got stolen from the ford factory car park most probably by kids.

So I been advised to remove badges from my car to save someone scratching it for me.
