Yeah great 5 year old thread mine

Ford/FPV would never offer such a kit as there would be a huge outcry on 400+kw cars being made by the factory, in addition there would be huge warranty and ADR implications.

This is why HSV do not do a super charger, but Walkinshaw does.

Well firstly I`m not allowed to post there email but in short they told me that the email is greatly appreciated and it has been forwarded to the design teams in fpv and ford. They also went ahead and said ford cares about making top quality performance cars and are passionate and excited about there future line up. that's about it really hey I`m happy they responded.

wow... At the bottom of the email was there a caption saying, this has been a computer generated response? Coz that seems like a fairly generic response

I reckon FPV are right where they should be anyhow. The F6 is awesome, the GS is nice, the GT great, but beaten by the F6...but there is the coyote v8 coming. A race special will never be made for the reasons above.

Its like this: Why buy a factory 450kw F6 when you would be able to build it yourself for MUCH MUCH less?

A to order engine modification makes no since for reasons others said previously. A handling performance pack on the other hand does, I've read multiple reviews of the F6 that say all these great things about it plus that it's too soft. They can not make all FPVs with stiff suspension as not everyone will like it. But why not have a handling pack just like they have performance brakes available, either a stiffer package or even better something adjustable like MRC on the GTS.

^Its already been done...but because FPV wouldn't spend big bucks on a proper setup it copped bad reviews etc. R-Spec anyone?

Aftermarket would still be the better option.

While I was having a dig at errR-Specs, sadly I do believe FPV think of it as a legitiment race version....

Who says the HSVs are quicker anyway? Given Holden's history of overstating power figures, etc (recently it's been dodgy fuel efficiency claims), for once Ford has it right in sticking to their plan. Anyway, by all real reports (aside from the W427, which is line ball) the F6 pretty well has it all over the current HSV line-up.

FPV/Ford know that no matter how quick or powerful they make their cars, HSV/Expensive Daewoo will always create a hero model with 'claimed' higher power outputs with the ever faithfull Wheels & Motor publishing super quick times for them. Then again, this is also part of the reason why Ford isn't doing too bad financially, and Expensive Daewoo is suffering due to their huge spends making their cost per unit way too high.

Exactly. And 0-100 or 1/4 times only tell a very small part of the story. While they are great for bragging rights around ya mates, real world driving would have you prefer a more refined ride and better equipment than just .1 second quicker to 100km/h.

Going slightly off topic - That is why the Buggatti Veyron is still the king... there are other production cars that are faster, yet none of them compare to the veyron for day to day comfort. That is what makes it so much more astonishing...
