Guest cul08r Guests Posted 11/05/04 01:35 AM Share Posted 11/05/04 01:35 AM More Power = run in hard.More reliability = run in easy. The run in phase of a motor is over within the first dozen heat cycles, usually within 1000 km too. If you want an economical car, run it in easy. Cars with more power will also be less economical.Andrew

Guest dingah Guests Posted 11/05/04 05:38 AM Share Posted 11/05/04 05:38 AM There are a number of threads about diffs, transmissions, shaft balancing and the like on this site and the modification sites which you should consider digging back through if you haven't already. I monitored these sites for well over a year to get to know the sort of folk that subscribe, how they drive and what their issues are to gain a balanced perception of what makes it to air on this site and from that would an XR6T meet my requirements and expectations. This site survey was all part of the acquisition decision process as I was not a lease/handback in three years owner but one who was buying the 'life car' out of my pocket with no tax incentive. As help, for example, JB has a raft of experience in Diff issues that you might want to explore with him but that's not necessarily an accurate reflection of what to expect from all XR6Ts. Sites like this are a fantastic resuorce for gaining insight and seeking help - exactly what you are doing, and in the main the guys are great at giving up their time to share experiences. It is human nature that bad news of course makes for much more interesting reading than good news, therefore expect to see more 'issues' appearing on these sites than all is well comments - althought he XR6T deserdly draws a heap of praise fomr everyone (well alost) that drives one. More relevant perhaps, JB and others have really useful experience they can share on how to approach getting these issue attended to and fixed. So have a hunt around and in the meantime I'm sure the members with relevant stuff will point you this way and that. Don't forget photos are good currency too - of the car not the missus!Cheers, congrats on your choice of vehicle and welcome to 'Team XR6T', Dingah

If, in HINDSIGHT you would run your car in differently and any other random comments you wish to leave, On Topic of course :errm:Cheers,LumpyPS:This isn't an attribution of blame or an "It's YOUR fault, not Ford's" thread or anything like that, Im just wondering as to what, if any trend we'll see? Posted 03/08/04 02:06 PM Share Posted 03/08/04 02:06 PM I was pretty hard on my car but wouldn't say I flogged it. I voted moderate with good power. The auto was replaced but that was a design flaw and nothing to do with the running in. My car is great now and has no issues. I just need to go faster. Geea.
