Motor Jan 05, Gen4 Hsv Gto coupe, hot day (AUTO)

0/100kmh in 4.99

0/400meters in 13.09@179.4kph

They also think it can get into the 12`s

This is getting stupid! Good on you Holden for having the guts to do it. However I still think they are irresponsible, they know power and speed sell and they just wont let up on it. I hate to say it, although I will never own a Expensive Daewoo I think ford have got a real problem on their hands. Lets face it guys the boss motor needs to rev and it never will there cars are to heavy and for now have missed there chance with the Typhoon. (Best car in oz period) In the next few months guys don’t be surprised if stock Hsv`s are one second faster over the 1/4mile than Fpv`s, and as good as we all know the Ba is the Fpv product will simply not have the creed that Hsv deserves. I know ford is worried of another supercar scare like back in the 1970s. After all it was there cars that caused it, but if they don’t do something about Hsv, than all there hard work they have done in the last 5 years will not grow to what it deserves to be. Ford take a RISK give us a GTHO or a gutted out street racer anything the longer you let Hsv have ALL the bragging rights the harder you will find to peg them back in, be it on the strip or in the showroom. (I LOVE FORD)

I have also sent this to fpv and ford

Standard shmandard, who cares what a stocker will do. If you are happy with a standard cars performance you don't want much grunt anyhows.

I think your missing the point im trying to make, Ford want to be leaders well they have to start leading. They first need to sell a stock car before someone can mod it.

Besides an aps stage 1 would still only just run with a stock hsv

Typhoon I agree with evry word you have said! FPV need to pull there finger out and to at least try to combat HSV. HSV have a nice slick mean looking coupe with the power to prove these results so why cant Ford or "FPV" go down the same track and take them on! At the least bring back the GTHO and now is the perfect time to do so...Take the chance Ford! we need to be more daring....Bring back a Cobra Coupe and kick HSV'S arse its that simple

Your observations are correct, however FPV, Tickford, Ford Australia have stated thousands of times that they WON'T GET CAUGHT UP IN A POWER STRUGGLE WITH HEAVY SLOW VEHICLES. They'll just follow to some degree.

I agree with you Typhoon - 100%!

Despite them being HSV's (and most people here can't stand them), they do offer more excitement straight out of the factory...which is why I drove and loved them before buying my T.

They need to up the ante in a big way.

In the meantime, send these Heavy Slow Vehicles my way for an amusing arse-spanking.

How much does one cost?

Probably talking about a car that few of us will ever own.

I would modify a turbo and you could probably do the same times and not spend the money. Some of the guys on this site has some very quick cars and have paid a lot less.

FPV do have to lift there profile a bit more in saying that. You just need to keep the pricing where more of the general public can afford to pay for them.

Tweek the GT a bit more. maybe. Factory super charger would be great.

I am guessing that Expensive Daewoo would be around the $100,000 mark?

All good.Expensive Daewoo has raised the bar.Possible 12's out of a factory vehicle under warranty.Brilliant.that's progress.

Yep, time for an overdue response from Ford.As you say Typhoon ,a GTHO minimum 330-350kw(s/charged) or a 300-320 kw turbo(Sprint?)is required capable of high 12's straight out of the box.

Big euro sedans Benz E55 etc.have been capable of this sort of performance for several years now and no-one talks about them in a supercar scare.

Ford can do it,but will they?
