Since the Typhoon is starting to get out there now , its only a matter of time before we see some dyno figures :w00t2:

Ford have quoted 270 kw but from the sound of it this may be conservative :w00t2:

What do you think the Typhoon will pull on a dyno? RWKW figures please

I'm going for

bw 235-240 rwkw

I would guess and say a fully ran in F6 should put out around the 235-240RwKw mark, as you said FPV seem to have understated the Kw to save the GT name.

after reading a few reveiws in mag's, on this and other ford sites, this car sounds like an absolute weapon and they look HOT as Hell :w00t2:

Mmm this is where it all turns ugly.

RWkw is a number as is RWnm

What is of more interest is the usable Torque over the greatest RPM range.

I would be happy to loose some rwkw for low down Torque any day so not necessarily the biggest rwkw wins as has been the mind set in the past.

Example is the GTS 6th gear mmm! the beast has 275kw but if changed into 6th below 110kmh is actually slows and wont pull out.

I think everyone will start to change the way they think about the magical RWKW in the next few years and concentrate more on getting the torque low as they can in the rev range and hold it through the rev range as opposed to now when they all look for BIG rwkw which they can achieve once they have the RPM up to speed.

Just Look around the forums now and see the constant bickering that is tacking place along with the new dogs on the block with new promises and the old dogs growling.. Not a Good look!!! Or a Good Read!

Facts are with the implementation of Computer management and advanced engine technology NO TWO TUNERS will ever get the same results as now there are so many variables it is totally impossible. And NO TWO TUNERS will agree on what is best to have by way of KW/NM @ what RPM range.

They can all argue till they are black and blue in the face but it will all just be agro for no gain.

The days of the Dyno rwkw is nothing but a number that now days means sh*t and as people start to come to terms with the new technology the promises of snake oil will continue to flow on this site along with the bitter arguments that are present at this time.

Give me TORQUE and heaps of it anyday if you want RPM and kw buy a two stroke. :spoton:

It’s almost 2005 and time to wakeup and smell the Roses men times they are a changing.

Dude nice arrow but you have missed the target..

The point is : Ppls who have driven these are contradicting the mags and fords claim..Ford maybe underquoting ..Without ripping an engine out ,the dyno and quarters are our only indications

I hear ya XR6_ED :spoton:

I know exactly what you mean and have driven the typhoon myself, read both mags and know what your on about. Also the possibility of Ford underquoting them or even Ford supplying a de-tuned test vehicle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What I’m saying is even though it has less kw than the GT it whips its ass and the reason is simple Torque and as people start driving them they are realising the advantage of the torque apposed to kw. (and how to use it)

I personally would not be surprised at 240rwkw on a dyno at all.

Thing is no other car in Aus has 550nm of torque of the showroom floor LET ALONE from 2000RPM to 5000RPM.

So when the dyno sheets start to flow as they will you look at the rwkw and I’ll look at the torque curve nm/rpm.

yip, once I see torque and 0-100kmh etc I will have a better impression. 550 nm of torque is where its at I think. An extra 30 kw wont add all that much but a mountain of torque definately will. :spoton:

Just got back from Eastern Creek Raceway. FPV Tickford Club had a host of cars there and one of them was a Typhoon Shockwave Blue Colour. The owner was there and we had a good chat about his car which looked awesome. Shockwave is a nice colour indeed actually prefer it to blueprint :spoton:

Anyway, he got the car from adelaide because of the shortage in delivery cars to NSW dealers and he has already dynoed it. 217Rwkw is the figure folks, which is in line with phase 1 XR6T without injectors and stands true to the cars 270fwkw rating. He is having a phase II kit placed on it this week so we should see the numbers grow but he is very happy with the car at the moment. He said the clutch was a bit funny but liked the 6 speed.

There you go.
