Hi,

I have heard negatives about the service some of you guys are getting from Ford but would like to let you know about my positive experience last week.

I had a creking noise coming from the back end of the car so took it in to get looked at. It has 17,000 km on it.

I had to leave it there overnight for them to track it down but they eventually found the problem.

When I went to see how things were going they had the seats, all interior from the back pulled out, bumper off. You name it they had it out.

They then went around the block a few times with another mechanic in the boot practically and after 10 hours of looking they tracked it down and fixed it.

There was no grumbling or annoyed looking people at the branch while they looked for my minor problem.

I had heard that rattles and squeeks are only warrantied for the first 15000 km.

When I took the car away they said it wouldnt cost me a cent and they even washed it and blacked the tyres as well.

Top effort I thought.

I know there are lots of problems with some cars out there and my problem was minor, but they fixed the problem with no fuss.

Maybe the attitude from Ford NZ is different, I really dont know.

 me if you like but I wanted to share my good experience with you all.

Maybe I'm just lucky but I must say that my local dealer in Hobart has always been nothing short of excellent with all servicing and warranty issues on my Fords.

The only time in the last five years when I had to wait longer than expected for a regular service to be completed I was given a couple of freebies from their cupboard of Ford souvenir items ( a Ford keytag and an XR mug ).

I'm sure such items wouldn't cost them much if anything, but it shows that some dealers do the right thing.

That's just one of the many reasons why I buy Fords :spoton::spoton:

Just had my 30,000 done yesterday, and I could not be happier with the service. This time I actually goyt my car back and they had done everything I had requested!

The car seems to be running alot better (don't ask me why). I decided to change dealers for this service to see if there was a difference, and this is the first time I have not had to go back after a service.

Anyone in vic that wants a good service maanager ask for Chad at New Oak in Oakleigh, very impressed and they have my business now.

Its a pity that there are dealers that dont seem to care. The bad ones give a good car maker a bad name.

Similar story here.

Had my 15,000k service done on the XR...supplied my own oil(2 x 5ltr containers). All was well until I got my car home and found that only 1 container was empty..the other was unopened.

I thought this was not a good sign, given that the car is supposed to take 6.2ltrs(as per manual) for oil+filter change.

Checked the dipstick and found that she needed more oil...topped it up myself with 1.2ltrs and then rang the dealer to advise them of the situation. Service Manager was very apologetic and promised to make it up for me. They ended up providing a free front and rear wheel alignment, plus free loan car and the service manager gave me a smick new XR watch(RRP $100!!) when I picked the car up for my trouble.

I was happy with the outcome in the end and the way they tried their best to rectify the situation without fuss or argument. IMO this was excellent customer service.

I am lucky too, I have nothing but compliments for City Ford in Sydney.

I lost 6 wheel caps in 8 weeks (they must have been faulty) they replaced them all under warranty and gave me 2 extras incase I needed em.

Around 17, 000K's my mirror switch stopped working... so I tried to fix it and fcuked it up even worse....

np @ City Ford, fixed in an hour with a smile and not even a hint of a charge.

best car company I have ever dealt with and I have had em all (except some very expensive german ones)
