marshman,

I private msged about 6 guys on this forum and got their opinion...I went with APS, unichip only and am happy with the result. You may also get completely fine outcomes with the other chip mobs. Either way, great bang for buck.

Excuse me Ian, but it is inapropriate to comment about other brands as this new lad is asking about APS, maybe you should of tried PM'ing him with your one-eyed comments.

Scotty, you horrible person. How could you possibly talk so meanly to poor Ian. It's no wonder that mean people like you get warnings. It's to protect the kind people like Ian and myself. :spit:

Next you'll be telling us that you sell Queensland realestate.

What is the world coming too.

Geea.

Scotty,

Ian's comments are perfectly reasonable. Im not sure what his "being cut off" remarks are about. (Nor do I care).

There is nothing wrong with someone pointing out there are various alternatives. Quite simply, if Marshman follows Ian's reasonable advice and does his homework...then if APS is indeed the best for him, not only will he be making a much more informed decision, he will be getting what suits him best and what has proven to be the best.

Of course Marshman could, if he so chooses, completely ignore Ian's fair advice and focus only on APS.

But that's not for YOU to decide either.

Ian obvisouly isnt the only one potentially being one-eyed here.

There was another thread simalar to this one that I but the same type of post in and it was shut down after I posted so that's why I said what I said.

I have a Unichip fitted (Ph I) and find the car is now a great toy with 239rwkw. I am sure you would be equally satisfied with any of the other products, the big thing is work out how far you want to go with the mods and choose the product that is appropriate. All the above advice is valid, take your time, read lots of the threads, but most importantly, don't buy real estate from Scotty.

My T is a manual and I have put 25,000 km on it since I had the unichip fitted. I have not had any driveline problems however, as far as warranty goes, if I break the driveline, I don't expect MoFoCo to honour warranty on those parts.

Whatever you decide, enjoy it.

Craig,

you are becoming a bit fixated, with all this anal retentive talk, might buy Renata a juicer for Xmas, make her washing easier.

..... and Scotty went to God and said unto God, 'Get Stuffed, and by the way, bless me God, I am but a Queenslander'. And God looked at Scotty, realising the Scotty was in fact correct, and he took pity on Scotty and ordered him to undertake pennance by consuming three Heinekens and four XXXXs.

Note, no Gods or peasants were harmed in the making of this post.

Hi,

I have just bought a XR6T MK2 6 speed. As you do...I'm looking at APS to do a phase 1 upgrade. Can anyone give me some feedback on this - performance, engine and clutch wear, warranty etc.

Cheers.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Marshman, I have an APS Phase II and have provided feedback including a report after 3000km in this thread:

Dr Z feels the need... ;)

While you may only be after an APS Phase I at this stage, after getting it you may consider even more power because the "Whoosh factor" is highly addictive. :spoton: However, even if you just stick with the APS Phase I, reading this thread will give you some useful feedback.

Of course, there are other aftermarket options than APS, though a clear advantage with APS is that they provide emissions data for your Engineering Certificate if you want the peace of mind of owning a quick, reliable, street legal car that will not have any legal or insurance concerns. :w00t2:

I ought to add that after 5000km, I am even more impressed with my choice.

PM me if you want some more information.

Safe and happy driving...Dr Z. :w00t2:
