I was thinking guys, you think that an Oil cooler would help on days like sunday ??....Im thinking about buying one to add to my car

I think it will help when the engine starts to get particularly hot when riding it hard and often on hot days.

I think wheels mag mentioned that they had the T shut down doing track work on a hot day. All forms of coolin help so It can't hurt. I will be fitting one shortly.

Do you have the aps intercooler on your car?

Yes Geeseman I do, I had spiro fit that as an extra to my aps gear.

Ive spoken to Spiro about the oil cooler yesterday and he said he will look into it for me, if its not too much ill add it to the system.

Even though im not a fan of capa, I have seen on their site that they have Manual Gearbox coolers.....I wonder if that would help the standard T5 last longer !!

I did notice when giving my T stick on hot days that the guage does creep up towards the middle and I would see quite a bit of heat eminating from the edges of the bonnet but this would have to be expected ... this was prior to mods and I must say that my Phase 1 has not made any significant difference to this ...

All I would say is that any additional cooling would only help the motor long term :spoton:

Cheers, Jason.

I don't really give mine any curry on really hot days as I don't see the point in placing stresses on the car in that weather. My needle sits just to the half side between 1/4 and halfway. If I turn the car off and come back 5 mins later it will be just touching halfway.

The Phase III intercooler certainly helps with inlet temps on the hotter days though, this was evident by Craigs 122 mph run on Friday night at Calder in 33 deg temps. It wasn't his first run either and the more runs in row you have the bigger the difference between the standard cooler and the Phase III inlet temps will be.

Can someone design a runoff pipe from the aircon airstream that feeds back into the air intake. I've seen it done on a F-150 Lightning but will be buggered if I can find the link.
