However, after having a new diff fitted the other week and being left with a severe vibration (after promises that I wouldnt... but that's another story) I went to get the tyres balanced to at least eliminate them from the vibration problem - I couldnt believe what the tyre shop showed me on the inside tyre walls and was very dissapointed that the Ford Dealer hadnt found the splits and delaminations, as at the time of the radiator replacement I was about to set off on a 3000Km trip with my young family .Anyhow, I had to get the tyres put back on to take to a Ford Tyre dealer at a later time (hassle, hassle, hassle). In the end I got 3 tyres replaced FoC, (the only one that was OK was one that I had to replace due to a puncture about 3 months after getting the T) with 42Kkm on them - still pretty good tread. In the end a pretty good outcome. You will need to find a Ford dealer that is also a Dunlop tyre dealer to avoid being messed around with by pro-rata warranty (Oh and I also got new rotors for the 4th brake shudder)No noises or brake shudders for now - feels good.... but looks like I'm going to have to put up with the diff vibration over christmas (they didnt balance it!) Guest Iwant1 Guests Posted 20/12/04 09:56 PM Share Posted 20/12/04 09:56 PM One of my rear tyers has a split right across the tread, I thought I would just wait until my 15K service and get it replaced, then I find out that it is only a pro rata warranty! This means if I get it replaced (50% tread on rear tyres) I will have to replace the other one aswell, at my cost...should have said somthing earlier... cutsnake Member 122 Member For: 21y 21d Posted 21/12/04 08:23 AM Share Posted 21/12/04 08:23 AM Thanks for pointing this out guys....I had my dealer check the side wall cracks on one of my tyres during the 45K service. To my delight, they replaced all four under warranty as all tyres where starting to exhibit the problem. I only had to pay for a wheel alignment which is OK considering I have around $1000 worth of tyres for nothing :o Cutsnake

After trying to say they were "cuts or impact fractures" they rang Dunlop who accepted that there is a problem with some SP 3000's.Had done about 11000 kms.Cheers, Chris

Never happened. Not bloody happy as it's the 3rd dunlop to split on this car alone, and I'm refusing to pay for the tyre I've used already when they replace it with a new one...If this keeps happening I'll never end up getting Michelins on the rear :(
